Improving K-12 Physical Education

Bennie Prince鈥檚 dedication to the discipline of physical education is making a lasting mark in 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock’s Health Sciences Department, College of Education, Arkansas Alliance of Physical Education Recreation and Dance, and the Little Rock School District.

Her work is also making an impact on the future health of the entire community. One of her legacies is her work over the past two years helping the Little Rock School District develop a curriculum map for K-12 Physical Education. Her work required expertise in the academic area of physical education, focus group facilitation, leadership, and relentless hours with Little Rock School District teachers and administrators.

Prince, a 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock health sciences instructor, provides professional development for LRSD physical education teachers and serves on the district鈥檚 Nutrition Physical Activity Advisory since 2006. She is the physical education chair for the Arkansas Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Association and was previously research chair. She helped create City Year of Little Rock鈥檚 physical education curriculum.

Prince received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in education from 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock in 1974 and a master鈥檚 degree in health, physical education from Henderson State University recreation and dance education in 1976. She joined 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock 22 years ago and is currently completing a doctorate in higher education leadership from Capella University in Minneapolis.
