Ms. Lynn Foster

Service-Oriented Law Professor

Professor Lynn Foster has exemplified the law school鈥檚 core values of professionalism, public service, and access to justice. Professor Foster is an outstanding teacher and serves as an excellent example for her law students. She has worked in a variety of projects to help her students and her community and to create laws and policies to benefit the underserved population in Arkansas without ever seeking commendations or attention for her contributions. Her primary efforts have included the creation of a service-learning course that provides opportunities for law students to work with residents in the University District Development Corporation, representing Arkansas on the national Uniform Law Commission, and serving on the Arkansas Landlord-Tenant Law Study Commission and drafting the Commission鈥檚 2013 report.
One of Professor Foster鈥檚 letter of nomination details her impact in multiple areas of the law and in the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock community. Professor Foster鈥檚 service activities serve a wide spectrum of constituents through her dedicated service on three significant platforms: the University District Development Corporation, the national Uniform Law Commission, and the Arkansas Bar Association. A former student and colleague discuss how Professor Foster 鈥渆xemplifies the spirit of this award through her efforts to serve the community,鈥 and another letter of nomination explains, 鈥渉er enduring commitment to fairness in the rule of law, in the face of attacks from special interests, warrants special recognition.鈥 Professor Foster鈥檚 contributions go well beyond 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock’s high standards for excellence in service.
Professor Foster鈥檚 degrees include a J.D. from Southern Illinois University, and a M.S. and an A.B. from the University of Illinois.
