Milestones are currently rolling out for Workday Student, which is the same system platform we use now as employees. This transition is part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our systems and provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience. Please note that Banner, BOSS, Argos, and Degree Works will be phased out, and by Fall 2025, we will fully transition to Workday for all milestones. Below are the details on past and upcoming go-lives:

Current Project Updates:

October and November were incredibly productive and helped us as we approach our next major milestone鈥擬ilestone 3鈥攁 crucial step in our transition to Workday Student. The 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Workday Student Core team has been actively engaged in multiple training sessions, data validation, and testing. Additionally, the Academic Foundations team has held sessions focused on academic requirements to ensure that programs of study are ready for advising and registration, which will open early next year.

You can also expect new and continuing students to log into Workday starting February 5th to complete their onboarding tasks. To do so, students will access Workday as employees do now by going to !

To prepare for these changes, we encourage you to start thinking about how to communicate with students about how the processes will change with the introduction of Workday. It鈥檚 also important to remember that continuing students will register for Summer 2025 in BOSS but will register for Fall 2025 in Workday. This will be a significant shift, so we want to consider ways to communicate these changes to students and the campus departments. Your proactive approach will facilitate a smoother transition for everyone.

Training!

You can start to find staff and faculty training materials in the Workday Learning app to learn more about your new Workday. Simply go to Workday, open the Learning app, select “Discover” from the right-hand menu, click “Browse Learning,” and search for “Student.” Here, you will find hundreds of documents related to student processes. While these resources may not be one-size-fits-all, they are a great starting point for learning about your new system. For more information on utilizing the Learning app, visit our Workday Support page on Learning here.

Please note that training is tailored to your security role. In-person training is currently being conducted with functional teams, and additional sessions will be scheduled at the beginning of 2025!

To help you learn more about Workday Student from the students’ perspective, Project One has published training materials, which you can access here:

. Please consider how this information will replace what you currently use for BOSS.

We are making significant progress, but there is still a lot of work ahead as we implement this monumental change. Please stay engaged and watch for communication to find out how you can get involved. Don鈥檛 forget to visit the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Workday Student website for more information. This effort requires all of us, but together, we will succeed.

The Workday Student implementation organized by the 糖心Vlog传媒SYS Project One team (Project One Team) kicked off in Fall 2021 with an initial 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Workday Student Core team (Core Team) consisting of 24 primary leads across the institution with 22 additional operational and technical subject matter experts (SMEs). Over the past 15 months, the Core Team has grown to incorporate 3 additional leads and SMEs from the 糖心Vlog传媒 Clinton School. A separate Advising Working Group, consisting of 33 members, will begin working in Spring 2023 to configure all of 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, 糖心Vlog传媒 Bowen Law, and 糖心Vlog传媒 Clinton School programs of study and their respective academic requirements.

Since the project kicked off, the Core Team has completed 288 Project One tasks in full and on time. These tasks have ranged from simple surveys to detail how current business processes leverage Banner data, to creating extensive data extracts from the Banner database. These efforts will prepare data and business processes for configuration within the Workday Student test environment.

Currently, the Core Team is collaborating with the Project One Team in the Architect & Configure phase of the project. This phase provides the opportunity to take the information provided in previously delivered tasks and ask our teams questions to confirm their understanding of how Workday Student should be configured to meet business needs. Additionally, this phase will provide clarification about limitations of the platform and identify business process gaps that will require resolution. Finally, this phase will afford our institution more 1:1 time with the Project One Team to ensure our needs and interests are being considered.

The Architect & Configure phase is scheduled to run through December 2023. However, end-to-end testing will begin for Recruiting & Admissions and Academic Foundations (course catalog, academic unit structure, programs of study) in early September 2023. Student Records, Academic Advising, Financial Aid, and Student Financials will begin end-to-end testing December 2023 through January 2024. Once the Project One Team finalizes the details of the end-to-end testing schedule and testing framework, the Core Team will be engaging the campus to identify testers who represent all institutional populations (students, faculty, staff, administration).

In the meantime, campus constituents are encouraged to track updates, submit questions and/or concerns about Workday Student, and review the latest project timeline and team directory via the new webpage created by the Workday Institutional Change Manager and the Office of Communications. The aim is to have a centralized location for informing the campus about the progress of Workday Student implementation and to provide a space to collect information for training needs and to address any misconceptions about the project and Workday Student鈥檚 capabilities.
