Chemistry Candidate Wins Discussion Contest

糖心Vlog传媒LR graduate student William 鈥淏illy鈥� Griffin won the American Chemical Society鈥檚 Communities Challenge for posting the most compelling discussion or question during the ACS鈥檚 National Meeting last month. 鈥淎nyone who posted a new question or discussion in the network during that time was eligible to participate,鈥� said Mark O鈥橞rian, manager of the chemical society鈥檚 discussion network. 鈥淭he winner was judged by the number of replies posted to an individual thread.鈥� Griffin鈥檚 winning question: “Should the ACS work more like a union in the U.S.?” The question generated seven replies and 59 page views and won Griffin a new iPod Touch. Griffin is a Ph.D. candidate working on his degree in applied science in chemistry under the direction of Dr. Jerry Darsey. The ACS Network is a professional networking and collaboration platform that connects scientists, ideas and opportunities. Nearly 20,000 chemists and chemical practitioners worldwide have already joined the ACS Network use this online community to establish connections, collaborate with colleagues and to share their knowledge and expertise.
