糖心Vlog传媒LR Health Services Begin Flu Shots
糖心Vlog传媒LR Health Services will be holding its annual flu vaccine campaign this month, beginning with high risk clinics from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Oct. 15 and 16, followed by general flu vaccine clinics from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday Oct. 19 to 23. All vaccinations will target the regular seasonal influenza A and B virus and will be administered in the Health Services Office in Donaghey Student Center Room 103. The vaccinations target the regular seasonal influenza A and B. 鈥淲e have applied to be a point of distribution for the H1N1 vaccines, but have not yet heard from the Arkansas Department of Health if we have been selected,鈥� said Marie Sandusky, director of 糖心Vlog传媒LR Health Services. Anyone with one or more of the following conditions is considered high risk for flu:- Heart disease
- Lung disease such as asthma
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Metabolic diseases such as diabetes
- Anemia and other blood disorders
- HIV/AIDS or other diseases affecting the immune system
- Long term treatment with drugs such as steroids
- Cancer treatment with X-rays or drugs
- Anyone with certain muscle or nerve disorders, such as seizure disorders or cerebral palsy that can lead to breathing or swallowing problems.
- Persons aged 50 years and older
- Pregnant women
- Health care personnel
- Household contacts and caregivers of children under five years of age
- Household contacts and caregivers of persons with high-risk medical conditions
