IEA’s Pakko Issues State, National Economic Outlook Thursday
Michael Pakko of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Institute of Economic Advancement and Arkansas鈥 chief economist and state forecaster, will preview what is in store economically for the state and the nation based on econometric models from 9:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the DoubleTree Hotel during IEA鈥檚 fall forecast conference. Jim Youngquist, director of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Institute for Economic Advancement, will open the conference with a welcoming address at 10 a.m., followed by Pakko鈥檚 take on the national economic outlook from 10:10 to 10:40 a.m. From 10:40 to 11:30 a.m., David Sanders, special columnist for Stephens Media, will moderate a discussion with Richard Bell, secretary of the Arkansas Agriculture Department; Roby Brock, executive producer and host of 鈥淭alk Business;鈥 Lane Kidd, president of Arkansas Trucking Associates; and Chris Masingill, director of Intergovernmental and External Affairs in Gov. Mike Beebe鈥檚 office. Pakko will give the Arkansas economic outlook from 11:30 a.m. to noon. Julie Stackhouse, senior vice president and managing officer of Bank Supervision and Regulation at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, will be the luncheon speaker. Registration is $50 per person.
