Endowment Honors Teacher, Banker, Lawyer Nancy H. Bailey
A new endowed scholarship to benefit non-traditional students at the 糖心Vlog传媒LR William H. Bowen School of Law has been established in the memory of Nancy Hall Bailey. A speech and drama teacher at Hall High School, a former vice president at Union National Bank, Bailey was a lifelong learner, earning a law degree from the Bowen school at the age of 66. Bailey died in January 2007. Memorials in her memory have exceeded $20,000, establishing an endowment that will fund a scholarship for a non-traditional law student, particularly a student who returns to formal schooling after being out of the classroom for an extended period of time. 鈥淭here is a tremendous need for support for non-traditional students who juggle jobs, family, and school,鈥 said Bowen Dean John DiPippa. 鈥淭his scholarship is a fitting memorial to a wonderful woman whose road to law school was varied and unique.鈥 Bailey was the daughter of former Arkansas Secretaries of State and State Treasurer, Nancy J. Hall and C.G. 鈥淐rip鈥 Hall. Her husband, Robert 鈥淏ob鈥 Bailey, was the son of the late Arkansas Gov. Carl Edward Bailey. -30-View more stories in News
