Rwanda Genocide Remembered Thursday
The 糖心Vlog传媒LR Rwandan Scholars Organization is hosting an educational and commemorative service from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 8, in Dickinson Hall Auditorium to remember the 1994 genocide that wracked their African country 16 years ago.
The genocide in Rwanda resulted in the systematic massacre of more than 800,000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus in less than 100 days.
The remembrance will communicate historical background about Rwanda, a screening of the documentary by Lara Waters Hinson, and a panel discussion in which audience members will be invited to participate.
Members of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Rwandan community will be invited to share their personal testimonies.
