School of Mass Communication Offers Scholarships for Media Camp

High school students interested in careers in the mass media and media production may attend 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 School of Communication鈥檚 Media Production Camp for Arkansas High School Students July 18 to 24. 糖心Vlog传媒LR, the Arkansas Broadcasters Association, and the Television Broadcasters of Arkansas are sponsoring 20 scholarships to the week-long camp. Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. Saturday, May 15. Scholarships will be announced by June 1. Scholarship campers must:

• Be enrolled in an Arkansas high school and have sophomore or junior status.
• Hold a grade point average of 2.5 or more.
• Be enrolled in their school鈥檚 broadcast journalism, television broadcasting, television production, or EAST program.
• Submit a completed application form with the signature of the student鈥檚 broadcasting teacher or EAST Facilitator.
• Submit a brief essay (no more than two double-spaced pages and no less than one page) describing why you are interested in broadcasting and media production.

Applicants may submit a brief video on DVD or VHS tape (in good taste) of no more than three minutes long, but this submission is strictly optional.
