Management Major Places in Top 2 Percent in International Contest
Robert L. Bandy Jr. of Little Rock, a senior management major in the 糖心Vlog传媒LR College of Business, placed fifth out of 224 worldwide teams in the Foundation International Spring 2010 Challenge. Developed by , the Foundation International Challenge is an online simulation in which university teams compete running virtual companies. Students must make business decisions in management, human resources, operations, research and development, finance, total quality management, sustainability, and marketing. 鈥淚 enjoyed the Capsim competition very much,鈥 Bandy said. 鈥淢y analytical personality and competitive drive gave me the motivation to continue on throughout each round.鈥 He graduated in May and planned to work as a home comfort consultant at Middleton Heating and Air, where he鈥檚 worked for more than two years. 鈥淭hey have been one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for in the last 16 years.鈥 While working full time, he plans to pursue an MBA at 糖心Vlog传媒LR. 糖心Vlog传媒LR students enroll in the simulation as a requirement in Dr. Nancy Landrum鈥檚 Business Policy and Strategy course.聽The Spring Challenge included teams from George Washington University, University of Oregon, University of Texas –聽Arlington, University of Texas – Dallas, University of Arkansas – Fayetteville, Brigham Young University, University of California, University of Massachusetts, Baylor University, and other universities in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Slovakia, and other locations around the world.View more stories in News
