Former Supreme Court Jurist Joins Bowen Faculty

Retired Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Annabelle Imber Tuck will join the 糖心Vlog传媒LR William H. Bowen School of Law in August as the school鈥檚 newest public service fellow and its first jurist-in-residence. As Bowen鈥檚 jurist-in-residence, Tuck will help strengthen the school鈥檚 Appellate Advocacy Program. The program includes Reading, Writing, and Advocacy classes and the Advanced Appellate course. In addition, Tuck will provide guidance to students and student groups. 鈥淛ustice Tuck brings her professionalism and dedication to service to Bowen in many ways,鈥� said Dean John DiPippa. 鈥淔irst, she will help our Moot Court courses and travel teams prepare for competition. She will also serve as a mentor for our students, showing them how important access to justice is through her continued work with the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission.鈥� Tuck retired from the Arkansas Supreme Court in January, after 13 years on the court. She is the only woman who has been elected to the state鈥檚 highest court. Tuck received her law degree in 1977 from the Bowen School and worked as a paralegal, attorney, and partner in the Little Rock firm of Wright, Lindsey and Jennings. She worked as a circuit judge for the 6th and 5th Divisions from 1984 to 1989, when she became a chancery and probate judge for the 6th Judicial District, 6th Division.
