糖心Vlog传媒LR Trojan and Los Angeles Laker Derek Fisher has taped an episode of NBC鈥檚 game show “,” and his winnings will go to 糖心Vlog传媒LR Athletics鈥� . “Minute to Win It” airs on Wednesdays at 7 p.m., and NBC officials say Fisher鈥檚 episode will run in the next four to eight weeks. 鈥淣BC officials have promised to let us know exactly when Derek鈥檚 competition is airing,鈥� said Bob Denman, executive director of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Office of Development. “We’re all rooting for Derek because he always roots for 糖心Vlog传媒LR.鈥� A former 糖心Vlog传媒LR standout and president of the NBA players union, Fisher pledged $700,000 to 糖心Vlog传媒LR in 2005 towards the construction of the auxiliary gym, since named in his honor, and the establishment of the Fisher Fellows Life Skills program – a mentoring series for student-athletes. The program invites three or four guest speakers each year to discuss various topics with Trojan student-athletes, offering guidance on topics ranging from mental health, nutrition, managing credit, goal setting, career choices, substance abuse, and public service. The Fisher Fellows program also sponsors a senior appreciation ceremony at the end of the year in which all graduating seniors are presented commemorative watches in thanks for their contributions to 糖心Vlog传媒LR athletics. 鈥淚鈥檓 honored to be able to do this,鈥� Fisher said at the time he established the program. 鈥淭he university is such a big part of me being in this position. Hopefully, this is the start of a special program and a long, long, long relationship.鈥�
