Three Students Picked for Washington Center Internships
Three 糖心Vlog传媒LR students have been selected for internships this summer by , the largest independent, nonprofit academic internship program in the country. Founded 35 years ago, The Washington Center鈥檚 mission is to build future leaders by instilling in all program participants the need to be well-informed, public-spirited, and socially engaged leaders.
The three students selected are:
- Michael Jolley of Batesville, majoring in computer science
- Jamilla Brown of Little Rock, majoring in art history
- Jennifer Guzman of Alexander, majoring in international studies
They 聽join a growing cadre of 糖心Vlog传媒LR students who have interned at sites such as the Navy Criminal Investigation Center, the Navy Museum, the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Defense, Walter Reed Military Hospital, InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, National Council of State Legislatures, Leadership for Africa USA, and Women Empowered Against Violence.
The state of Arkansas is providing each student a stipend of $6,000 to help defray the tuition costs. The university then forwards the tuition fees the students pay toward meeting the hefty cost of the internship.

The preliminary requirements include at least a 2.7 grade point average, Arkansas residency, and at least 45 credits completed.
