‘Kinect’ at Microsoft Game Day Thursday

All work and no play makes life dull, but what if one could make a career out of playing? Microsoft representatives show students how that can happen from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Microsoft Game Day. Officials of the giant software company will be in the atrium at the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Business and Economic Development with some of the company鈥檚 latest video games, including games that use Microsoft鈥檚 new Kinect technology. Stephen Burks, 糖心Vlog传媒LR’s Microsoft student partner, also will have Windows Phone 7 based smart phones for students to experience to try. 鈥淎ll students, no matter what major, are invited,鈥 said Dr. James Parrish, assistant professor of management. 鈥淚n the near future, 87 percent of all new jobs created will be IT-related, so we welcome all majors to attend.鈥 The event is designed to use video games to expose students to the various careers that are possible in the world of Information Technology. It’s also an opportunity for students to win prizes and giveaways while networking with others. The event is free and open to all students. For more information, contact Parrish at 501-569-3293.
