Sculptural Felting Workshop Set Saturday, Sunday
鲍础尝搁鈥檚 Applied Design program is holding a sculptural felting workshop聽at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 5 and 6, in the 糖心Vlog传媒LR Applied Design Facility at University Plaza Suite 300.
The workshop will be led by Arn镁r煤冒ur 脰sp Karlsd贸ttir, a fiber artist from Reykjavik, Iceland. She works in knitting, felting, crocheting, and alternative methods and uses for fibers. Karlsd贸ttir is a practicing fibers artist and currently teaches at the Reykjavik School of Visual Art.
The registration fee is $50, tuition is $100, and the supply fee is $30. Tuition and fees are due by March 4. Space is limited and the workshop will fill on a first come-first served basis.聽 The registration form is available on 鲍础尝搁鈥檚 Department of Art website. The sculptural felting workshop is open to all skill levels.
Participants will learn how to use simple tools and techniques to manipulate wool and other fibers into traditional objects and free-standing sculpture. The workshop will focus on sculpting with a felting needle, free embroidery, knitting with alternative materials and will include a variety of techniques.
