Wigand, Researchers Present on Authentication of Drugs in Supply Chains

Dr. Rolf Wigand, Maulden-Entergy Chair and Distinguished Professor of Information Science and Management, along with two 糖心Vlog传媒LR graduate students presented their paper, 鈥淚nformation Management and Authentication of Drugs in Supply Chains within the Pharmaceutical Industry,鈥� at the Tuesday, April 12, in Las Vegas. The paper appears in the ITMG Conference Proceedings. The students working with Wigand were Dianah Mande, Wigand鈥檚 graduate research assistant, and Jerry Wood, a Ph. D. student in the Integrated Computing Ph.D. program. A National Science Foundation grant supported their research. The paper examined identity management and authentication of drugs in supply chains within the pharmaceutical industry. 鈥淭he focal concern in this setting is counterfeit drugs, a dilemma of paramount importance for public health and the well-being and safety of patients,鈥� Wigand said.
