Flutist to Perform Sept. 10

Atlanta Symphony flutist Christina Smith, one of the youngest principal flutists of a major U.S. orchestra, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Fine Arts Building, presented by College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences鈥� Department of Music. The event is free and open to the public. Earlier in the day, Smith will present a master class for students at 9 a.m. in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. The public is invited to attend. Smith was 20 when appointed as principal flutist of the in 1991. She has appeared often as a soloist with Atlanta and other orchestras, including the San Francisco Symphony. Smith regularly appears in recitals, chamber music performances, and master classes throughout the country. She serves on the faculty at Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
