Interfaith Iftar, Food Drive Tonight
Dr. Mohammed Moursi, a vascular surgeon at 糖心Vlog传媒MS, will give a brief explanation of Ramadan, at at 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 鈥淭hink Fast: Interfaith Iftar and Food Drive, 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25 in Ledbetter Hall in 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Donaghey Student Center. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn until dusk, when they join family and friends for an iftar, is a traditional dinner that ends the day of fasting during Ramadan, and engage in charitable acts. Dr. Clea Bunch, chair of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Middle Eastern Studies program, said the discussion and dinner is free and open to the public. 鈥淲e invite members of the community to participate in these traditions by fasting for all or part of the day, if they choose, and and donating non-perishable foods to our food drive,鈥� Bunch said.
