Garnett Elected President of Women in French

Mary Anne Garnett, chair of the Department of International and Second Languages聽Studies and professor of French at 糖心Vlog传媒LR, has been elected president of Women in French (WIF). WIF聽is an allied organization of the whose purpose is to promote聽scholarship among women authors writing in French. WIF publishes a peer-reviewed journal, Women in French Studies, accessible online through , and hosts an every two years. The next conference will be at Arizona State University in Tempe on Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25. A native of Eau Claire, Wis., Garnett has taught French at 糖心Vlog传媒LR since 1992. She has also taught English to students overseas in France, in Rouen, Normandy as an 鈥渁ssistante d鈥檃nglaise,鈥 and in a small town north of Bordeaux as a 鈥渓ectrice d鈥檃nglais鈥 at a language center for adults.
