Chemistry Scholars to Present at National Meeting
Eleven students and six faculty will head to New Orleans Monday, April 8, for the American Chemical Society National Meeting where they will present on topics ranging from nanotechnology to coal combustion. Twice a year, the 糖心Vlog传媒LR chemistry department faculty and other 糖心Vlog传媒LR faculty attend the (ACS) meeting. Faculty apply to present at the meeting and others are invited. The faculty presenting at the April meeting are: Dr. Jerry A. Darsey, Dr. Robert E. Belford, Dr. Mariya V Khodakovskaya, Dr. Laura S. Ruhl, and Charles Hathaway. This is an opportunity for them to meet other high level chemists in their field and also allows them to explore possible graduate school opportunities. Undergrad and ACS Club Officer Andrew Cornell will present at the national meeting and said it is an honor. “This trip will allow for the opportunity to interact with ACS Student Chapters and chemists from all over the world. It is a chance to represent my school and department with the world鈥檚 largest scientific society,” he said. “I plan to use all of my time attending presentations and supporting the 糖心Vlog传媒LR faculty and my fellow classmates.鈥 The other 糖心Vlog传媒LR student presenters are: Michael A. Bauer, Lisa M. Orr, 聽Gunawan Gunawan, Udaya Bhasker Nasini, Joshua A Moore, Jennifer A. Hill, Venu Gopal Bairi, Amy M. Alexander-LeCroy, Carson De-Priest, Sunil Kumar Ramasahayam, and Steven E.
