Orchestra to present annual spring concert

The 糖心Vlog传媒LR Department of Music will present the 15th Annual Spring Concert of the Community Orchestra at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 12, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building.

OrchestraThe event is free and open to the public.

The 45-member 糖心Vlog传媒LR Community Orchestra, under the direction of associate professor of music Victor Ellsworth, will perform works by Shostakovich, Bizet, Milhaud, Stravinsky, and an original composition of Dr. Wallace De Pue Sr.

De Pue, professor emeritus of composition at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, wrote his original composition 鈥淧relude and a Dorian Dance鈥 for orchestra.

The Milhaud piece, 鈥淪caramouche,鈥 is a three-movement concerto for alto saxophone and orchestra. It will feature 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Andy Wen, associate professor of music, as soloist.

鈥淔ourth Scene, the Fair鈥 by Igor Stravinsky from Petrouchka
