Students find opportunities at annual Service Fair
鲍础尝搁鈥檚
Office of Community Engagement held its annual Service Fair Wednesday, Sept. 3, in the Donaghey Student Center offering volunteer and internship opportunities to members of the campus community – especially students.
Taurine Main, a sophomore majoring in
biology with a double minor in
nonprofit leadership and
business, signed up to volunteer with the Humane Society of Pulaski County.

鈥淚鈥檝e always been an animal lover,鈥 said Main. 鈥淗elping them in times of depression is my specialty.鈥
Main said she fostered 22 animals over the summer after the recent tornadoes devastated the Vilonia area where she lives, and though she cannot foster during the school year, she now has an opportunity to help in other ways.
A Youth Educator at Unity Church in Little Rock, Main also applied for a part-time position with
糖心Vlog传媒LR Children International.
鈥淚 have the talents and skills, and they expressed a need for a part-time worker. I made a connection through volunteering and networking,鈥 she said.
Students were able to meet with more than 20 organizations from the central Arkansas area at聽the fair.
