Chamber recital to feature violin and piano duo Sept. 19

糖心Vlog传媒LR’s Department of Music and Professor of Music Linda Holzer will present a chamber music recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19. The concert will be held in Stella Boyle Smith Recital Hall in the 糖心Vlog传媒LR Fine Arts Building. “Mariposa & Friends: International Treasures!” features the duo Mariposa, comprised of Holzer on piano and Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Assistant Concert Master Sandra McDonald on violin. They will be joined by Rafael Le贸n on cello. Selections will include Spanish composer Manuel de Falla鈥檚 Suite Populaire Espagnole, and Beethoven鈥檚 famous 鈥淎rchduke鈥� trio, as well as Piano Trio (1987) by American composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. The Zwilich piece is being performed in honor of the composer鈥檚 75th birthday season. Admission to the concert is free and open to the public.
