Volleyball seeks 15th win, Selimovic is ‘Player of the Week’
The ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR volleyball team is on a winning streak and will seek its 15th consecutive victory at play against the University of Louisiana at Monroe in Monroe, La., on Friday, Oct. 31.
The Trojans play again at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, in the Jack Stephens Center.
The upcoming clashes come on the heels of the team’s record-setting night on Oct. 25, in which the team defeated Appalachian State in straight sets for the team’s 14th consecutive win.
Besides breaking the school’s record for consecutive wins, the Trojan team, which is at 19-4, 13-0 in the Sun Belt Conference, also set a new mark for consecutive victories to begin league play with 13.
In addition, the league announced that has been named the Sun Belt Conference’s Defensive Player of the Week, marking the sixth consecutive week a ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR player has won a conference weekly award.
Selimovic leads the Trojans with 105 blocks and also leads the Sun Belt with an average of 1.33 blocks per set. She also has the fourth-highest hitting percentage in the conference with .352.
