糖心Vlog传媒LR senior Wendy McCloud of North Little Rock received her second consecutive $2,500 AT&T War Memorial Scholarship Oct. 18 at the University of Arkansas Razorback game at War Memorial Stadium. 鈥淲e recognize military veterans
possess the skills our company needs to succeed. They’re an invaluable part of our workforce,鈥 said Arkansas AT&T President Ed Drilling.
鈥淭hese heroes have gone above and beyond the call of duty, and we are honored to help Arkansas veterans receive a helping hand in pursuing a higher education.鈥
McCloud, who served in the U.S. Air Force, expects to graduate in May 2015 with a bachelor of arts in professional and technical writing and has been accepted into the 糖心Vlog传媒LR master’s progam in Professional and Technical Writing Program.
鈥淚 am very appreciative of AT&T鈥檚 support of Arkansas鈥 veterans,鈥 said McCloud. “The AT&T War Memorial Scholarship is a real tribute to all of Arkansas鈥 service men and women and is helping to make earning a degree a reality for me.鈥
AT&T established the scholarship at the Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization that fosters smart giving to improve communities, in 2011 to support Arkansas veterans seeking higher education.
The scholarship honors Arkansas鈥 25 Congressional Medal of Honor recipients and is awarded annually to a veteran of any branch of the U.S. Armed Services who will attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university in Arkansas.
