SGA launches fight song lyric competition
The deadline for the fight song lyric competition is fast approaching, according to members of the ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR Student Government Association. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 23. The competition, which seeks to promote camaraderie and school spirit.
Anyone who has an ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR email address may compete – current and past students, alumni, faculty and staff.
A panel of 10 ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR students, alumni, and faculty will choose the winning lyrics, which may be featured at the Spring ‘15 basketball homecoming game.
The winner will receive $500, and the lyrics will be adopted as ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR’s official fight song lyrics.
Lyrics should be submitted at ualr.edu/communications/fightsong and adhere to the following guidelines:
- Must coincide with the instrumental music for ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR’s Fight Song
- Cannot contain any vulgar language or suggestive themes or messages
- Cannot contain the name of any student or describe any individual or his or her likeness
- Must be written in a general format to include all ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½LR students rather than an individual team, organization, college, or department
