Record crowd enjoys Meet the Trojans event
More than 700 fans visited聽the聽Jack Stephens Center for Meet the Trojans, a night of fun, food, music, and games with the Little Rock student-athletes.
All 14 University of Arkansas at Little Rock athletic programs were represented during the Oct. 15 event.
鈥淥n behalf of Trojan Athletics and all of our coaches, staff and student-athletes, we are grateful to all of our supporters that came out for our annual Meet the Trojans event,鈥� Director of Athletics Chasse Conque said.
Head men鈥檚 basketball coach Chris Beard and head women鈥檚 basketball coach Joe Foley addressed the crowd and spoke about their upcoming seasons. Josh Hagins was the winner of the dunk contest while Alexius Dawn and Kemy Osse teamed to win the 3-point shootout.聽The Little Rock dance team performed, and the Trojans鈥� pep band played throughout the night.
鈥淏ased on the feedback we received, it appears our fans really enjoyed the new format as it gave everyone an opportunity to meet all of our student-athletes from every sport,鈥� Conque said. 鈥淭he atmosphere Thursday night was tremendous, and it clearly shows a renewed enthusiasm for Little Rock Trojans athletics. It is a great time to be a Trojan.鈥�
Little Rock men鈥檚 basketball opens its season vs. Central Baptist on Nov. 14 at the Jack Stephens Center. The women鈥檚 basketball team opens the year at Tulane on Nov. 13 before returning home to host LSU on Nov. 18.
