Second annual Rent-A-Puppy event set

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock community will have the opportunity to play and socialize with rescue and shelter dogs of all ages from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, next to Ottenheimer Library. Because Rent-A-Puppy was such a success last year, the university鈥檚 Chi Omega Gamma Zeta chapter has decided to again host the activity. 鈥淚t is a wonderful event that will allow students to have a relaxing time between or after class and, most importantly, get tons of puppy kisses,鈥 said Taurine Main, a member of the Chi Omega Gamma Zeta Chapter. Rent-A-Puppy offers dog rescue and shelter organizations in central Arkansas some public exposure and gives their adoptable dogs an opportunity to receive affection and, potentially, new homes. Attendees may rent a dog for $5 for 15 minutes and $2 for five minutes. Toys will be provided, and dogs will be on leashes for people to handle. The event will be used to raise funds for , one of the focuses of the chapter鈥檚 philanthropy. The national nonprofit organization grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
