AWARE to host climate justice workshop Nov. 7]]> A climate justice workshop will be offered 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Ottenheimer Library in the Anderson Institute on Race and Ethnicity office. The free workshop is open to the public. Led by Carmen Greshman of AWARE (Advocating for the Wellbeing And Respect of Everyone), the workshop will address the connection between class struggle and the climate crisis, environmental justice and the impact of climate change on marginalized and colonized peoples, the myths and misconceptions about sustainability and individual choice, and the power of mass mobilization and class solidarity.聽 鈥淎s the urgency of the climate crisis increases, it鈥檚 become more important than ever to educate and agitate others on climate justice and what we can do to fight for our survival,鈥� Greshman said. All funds raised will benefit Lucie鈥檚 Place, the only homeless shelter for LGBTQ+ youth in Arkansas. The fundraiser will allow participants to shop for gently used clothes at discounted prices.. Clothing of all types and sizes will be available, and the event is gender non-binary and transgender-friendly. If you are interested in donating clothes, contact the Alliance or AWARE on Facebook or look for marked donation bins on the first floor of Ottenheimer Library and around campus. It will include a conversation about issues of importance to people who are transgender and a question-and-answer session. It’s planned in advance of International Transgender Day of Visibility, a March 31 event intended to celebrate transgender people and highlight discrimination issues.
