Works by Warrick on display at new Boswell-Mourot Gallery exhibit

New artwork by Michael Warrick, professor of art at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, is on display at a new exhibit at.�� The exhibit will be on display from June 22 to July 13. An opening reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at the gallery at 5818 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock. The exhibit features a dozen of Warrick’s “larger than life” portrait sculptural pieces in bronze and clay completed in the last year. The exhibit also features paintings by artist Nancy Wilson. Warrick has a Bachelor of Science in ceramics from Illinois State University and a Master of Fine Arts in both sculpture and ceramics from Southern Illinois University. Boswell Mourot Gallery is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, call Boswell Mourot Gallery at 501-664-0030. New artwork by Michael Warrick, professor of art at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, is on display at a new exhibit at.�� The exhibit will be on display from Saturday, June 30, to Thursday, July 21. An opening reception will be held from 6-9 p.m. June 30, at the gallery at 5818 Kavanaugh Blvd., Little Rock. The exhibit features Warrick’s new sculptural works in bronze and clay. The exhibit also features the nonrepresentational abstract pieces of artist Elizabeth Weber. Kyle Boswell, owner of Boswell Mourot Gallery, described Warrick’s work as representing a good balance between the hard material of bronze and the softness of organic materials.

Boswell Mourot Gallery will display Brad Cushman’s art

New etchings and paintings from Brad Cushman, the director of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Art Gallery, will be on display at from June 10 to July 1.�� An opening reception for the exhibit, “Though False Intended True,” will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Boswell Mourot Gallery, 5815 Kavanaugh Blvd. in Little Rock. Landscapes, trees and their reflections, weathered surfaces, and textures have inspired this series of paintings and mixed media works. “Cushman is drawn to the expressive use of color and texture,” said Kyle Boswell, owner of Boswell Mourot Gallery. “He manipulates paint with brushes, his fingers, and rollers used for relief printing. He wipes the surfaces of these paintings on paper and on board much like a printmaker hand wipes plates.” The exhibit will also feature two new political satire paintings and gestural drawings inspired by Van Gogh’s peasant drawings. Cushman received a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. He is the voice of “Picture This” on the Little Rock NPR stations, and he produces a television show entitled “Inside Art” in conjunction with University Television at ��Vlog��ý Little Rock.
