Dr. David Cortright, director of policy studies at Notre Dame鈥檚 Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, will present a lecture, 鈥淟essons from the Egyptian Revolution: The Power of Nonviolence,鈥� Friday, Nov. 4, in the 糖心Vlog传媒LR Donaghey Student Center.

糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Middle Eastern Studies Program is hosting a series of films from Monday to Wednesday, Oct. 17 to 19, followed by discussions led by 聽members of the Middle Eastern Studies faculty.

糖心Vlog传媒LR Opera Theatre will present Englebert Humperdinck鈥檚 鈥淗ansel and Gretel鈥� from Friday, Oct. 28, to Sunday, Oct. 30, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building.

The regional premiere of 鈥淎 Little Traveling Music,鈥� by Los Angeles musician John Steinmetz, will be the centerpiece of the bassoonist鈥檚 residency Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15 and 16, at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building. 糖心Vlog传媒LR graduate student Tamisha Cheatham has secured a $250,000 grant from the National Park Services to help restore the cemetery at the Rohwer Japanese American Internment Camp in Desha County in southeastern Arkansas.

The 糖心Vlog传媒LR Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will open its 2011-2012 season with the musical comedy, 鈥淥nce Upon a Mattress,鈥� Thursday, Oct. 6, to Sunday, Oct. 9, at University Theatre in the Center for the Performing Arts.

糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 German program is calling for submissions from university and high school students to compete in a German Cultural Olympics. The prize? A trip to Germany.
