College of Business to host career-catalyst workshops]]> The University of Arkansas at Little Rock College of Business will host several career-centered workshops throughout the spring semester to help its students improve and perfect their business professionalism. The first workshop in the series will focus on resume building and teach students what not to include in their outline of experience. This course will also emphasize the skills necessary for employment in the 21st century, identify ways to highlight those skills, and demonstrate how that information could be used to capture an employer鈥檚 attention. Three resume workshops will be presented beginning Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m., and Friday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. Each session will take place in Reynolds Business Building Room 107. Learning the ins and outs of how to perfect an interview will be the focus of the next segment of workshops, which will be held Thursday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 16, at 10 a.m. Both sessions will be in Reynolds Business Building Room 109B. The final workshop in the series, 鈥淒ress to Get the Job,鈥 will run Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 1:45 p.m., both in Reynolds Business Building Room 109B. To help students apply what they learned in the workshops to a real world situation, the College of Business arranged a speed mixer for Wednesday, March 14, at 8 a.m. that will feature local and corporate business executives. In addition to putting their resume, interview, and appareling skills to the test, students will have the opportunity to flex their networking muscles and learn more about positions that may be available to them in the future. This event will take place in the Reynolds Business Building atrium.
