College of Business to host Carnival of Clubs Sept. 12, introduces Trojan Spirit Days]]> University of Arkansas at Little Rock students and clubs are invited to represent their organization and recruit new members at the College of Business鈥檚 annual Carnival of Clubs event on Thursday, Sept. 12.聽 Hosted by the, this year鈥檚 event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Reynolds Center for Business and Economic Development and have the theme 鈥淪outh of the Border.鈥 Carnival of Clubs attractions will include carnival games, contests, free popcorn, and a concert by Dazz and Brie, a female duo that combines rock and roll with soul music.聽聽 For more information, contact the business dean鈥檚 office at 501-569-3356. Additionally, the College of Business will celebrate Trojan Spirit Days throughout the fall semester. Carnival of Clubs returns Aug. 29 to College of Business]]> Students and clubs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock are invited to represent their own organization and recruit membership at the annual Carnival of Clubs at the College of Business.聽 Hosted by the Marketing and Advertising Department, the event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, at the Reynolds Center for Business and Economic Development. 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock student organizations are invited and encouraged to sign up and participate. All students are welcome to join in the fun and games. Student organizations may to host a table at the event. Carnival of Clubs attractions will include circus carnival games, contests, free popcorn, and the ever-popular 鈥淒unk the Funk鈥 challenge, where participants will have three opportunities to send Accounting, Economics and Finance Chair Dr. Mark Funk plummeting to the bottom of a dunk booth. New attractions for this year鈥檚 event include a Western belt buckle contest, with cash prizes, faculty line dancing, and a photo booth. Carnival of Clubs encourages student interaction with College of Business]]> He looked forward to the 糖心Vlog传媒LR College of Business Carnival of Clubs on Aug. 30 as a way to educate people about what it means to be an accounting major and to recruit new members to the 糖心Vlog传媒LR Accounting Society. 鈥淥ur goal here is to gain new members and get the word out about our organization,鈥 Ward said. 鈥淚 think that we have the most misunderstood major, so it鈥檚 exciting to be able to share with other students what they can do with a career in this field.鈥 The concept of the Carnival of Clubs came to life through the idea of a student, said聽Mark Funk, chair of the Department of Economics and Finance and interim chair of the Department of Accounting, 鈥淭he student at the time was the president of the Marketing Association, and she wanted to figure out a way to connect students to each other and to the college,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hat day, the students of the Marketing Association came up with the Carnival of Clubs.鈥 Funk recalls the first carnival included only tables, clubs, and candy. This year the event included games, tables, food trucks, a dunk tank, and a DJ. 鈥淓ach year we try to add something extra,鈥 he said. There were nearly 15 clubs and organizations to attend the carnival this year, including the International Business Program, Student Government Association, Human Resource Management Society and . Although the event was targeted toward clubs and organizations on campus, outside organizations were also welcome to attend. The Beauty Brand Salon, located on University Avenue, held its first table at the carnival this year. Many of the students working a table at the event were excited to have the opportunity to network, share information about their organizations, and get to know their peers. The carnival will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, inside and outside the Reynolds Building. 聽All 糖心Vlog传媒LR student organizations are invited and encouraged to sign up and participate, and all students are welcome to join in the fun and games. Carnival of Clubs attractions will include circus performers, carnival games, contests, free popcorn and the ever-popular 鈥淒unk the Funk鈥 challenge. For $1, participants will have three opportunities to send Accounting, Economics and Finance Chair Dr. Mark Funk plummeting to the bottom of a dunk booth. There will also be food trucks catered by Kathmandu Momo, Blackhound BBQ, Hot Rod Wieners, and Rock N Flavors.
