The performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. April 22 and 23 as well as 2:30 p.m. April 24. The annual spring dance concert will feature two live works as well as the working draft of a new dance film which is the outcome of a collaboration with 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Music. BodyWorks 2022 will include 鈥淧lace,鈥� choreographed by Stephanie Thibeault, associate professor of dance, with music by Radiohead, arranged and performed by Sybarite 5. Performers include Lillian Berry, Jali Chandler, Savannah Davis, Stephen Glass, Madison Price, Lizzie Schaefer, and Laney Smith. The second piece is a new dance film 鈥淎 Boy and a Girl,鈥� directed, filmed, and edited by Stephen Stone, associate professor of dance, with music by Eric Whitacre. Performers Stephen Glass and Bonnie Puska will be joined by the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Chamber Singers. The third and final performance is 鈥淏are Bones,鈥� choreographed by Stone, Thibeault, and 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock dance students with music by Pink Floyd, Man in a Shed, Shigeru Umebayashi, Ludovico Einaudi and Daniel Hope, and Haoli Lin and Hai Jin, Meredith Monk, and DeVotchka. Performers include Makayla Allman, Lillian Berry, Alexis Brooks, Jali Chandler, Savannah Davis, Stephen Glass, Madison Price, Elizabeth Schaefer, Morgan Smith, and Kiara Willis. Don Bolinger, costume shop manager, completed costume design, and Mike Stacks completed lighting design for all the performances. General admission tickets are $10, while tickets for 糖心Vlog传媒 System faculty, staff, and students are $5. Tickets are $10 for the public and $5 for students. 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Choirs will perform songs from South Pacific, Little Women, Dream Girls, Company, The Wiz, and more. All proceeds will go to benefit 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Choirs. Funds will be used for student recruitment, success, and engagement projects. In one project, about 30 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock students are traveling to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall for the first time in June 2022. It鈥檚 a trip to New York City where the students get to experience the life of a musical artist and the culture of the city. For a number of our students, it will be the first time they鈥檝e traveled outside of Arkansas.鈥� The 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Choirs are leading a year-long fundraising campaign to raise the estimated $75,000 to pay for approximately 30 students who will be traveling to New York to perform at Carnegie Hall.聽 The choral ensembles have received a $3,000 donation from the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Student Government Association. This is one of Poulenc鈥檚 most famous works consisting of six movements. Members of the public and the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock community have plenty of chances to support the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock choral ensembles as they prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall. 鈥淭o say that singing in New York has been a lifelong dream of mine is a complete understatement,鈥� said Kaitlyn Kendrick, a sophomore music performance major from Maumelle. 鈥淓ver since I was a little girl, I imagined myself performing all over New York and to be able to experience such a high honor like singing in Carnegie Hall is more than I could have imagined I would be doing so early in my career. Music has always been my passion and this is one of the greatest things that could happen for a young singer.
