Earl and Kathy Ramsey Distinguished Lecture at 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Downtown, 333 President Clinton Ave. Quiamco, a graduate of 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 Donaghey Scholars program, is a Filipino-American social media artist, influencer, and published author whose work has been featured in Forbes, New York Magazine, Business Insider, Vanity Fair, Tech Insider, and many other publications.听 鈥淲e are thrilled to have Cyrene back in Little Rock as the first lecturer for this series,鈥� said Simon Hawkins, director of the Donaghey Scholars program. 鈥淲e are proud of her innovative career and look forward to having her share her experiences.鈥�听 The lecture series was created in honor of Dr. Earl Ramsey, director emeritus for the Donaghey Scholars Program, and endowed by a generous gift from Earl and Cathy Ramsey in addition to many individual donations from 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock alumni. Discover event set for Oct. 19, Nov. 2]]> The University of Arkansas at Little Rock鈥檚 premier student recruitment event, Discover Day, will offer two chances for and parents to explore everything 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock has to offer.听 Discover Day events will be held on Friday, Oct. 19, and Friday, Nov. 2. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. in the Jack Stephens Center, and the event will end around 2 p.m. This free open house includes information sessions, campus activities hosted by student organizations, guided tours, a campus picnic, social media contests, and free 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock goodies. Participating students will visit an academic college of their choice, meet with current 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock students, and experience campus housing and dining. Additionally, students will have a chance to win six scholarships at both events. A $1,000 scholarship will be given during the welcome session that begins at 10 a.m. in the Jack Stephens Center. Students also will have the chance to win one of five $250 scholarships by following the event at @ualradmissions on Snapchat and sending 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock a photo with #DiscoverLR. Scholarships will be given for the best pictures in the following categories: Best Trojan Spirit, Most Creative, Best Use of Prop, Best Selfie with Filter, and Best Overall. A special filter has been created by 2012 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock graduate Cyrene Quiamco and will be available on Snapchat during the Discover Day events. Formerly a web designer for Verizon Wireless, Quiamco has made a career for herself on Snapchat. Quiamco, who goes by the handle on all her social media accounts, created , a website that showcases the work of Snapchat artists, giving their creations an extended 鈥�11th second鈥� in the spotlight.
