The Tesla Owners Club of Arkansas will be a new addition to the Earth Day festivities. The club will bring Tesla鈥檚 Model Y and Model S vehicles to campus for viewing. Keep Little Rock Beautiful is looking for volunteers to participate in a campuswide cleanup event. Participants should visit the Keep Little Rock Beautiful tent for trash grabbers and trash bags to collect litter on campus. Those who bring back their bags will receive a free t-shirt. Back by popular demand, the Sustainability Committee and Entergy are giving away free desk lamps with USB ports and smart power strips. Meanwhile, participants may drop off their electronics for a recycling drive in Lot 15. All full- and part-time faculty, instructors, students, and staff may apply. Grant funds will be available for the 2021-2022 academic year and must be used by June 30, 2022. Funds may be used for travel, educational materials, equipment purchases, field trips, or guest speakers. Participants will be able to purchase various homemade items from vendors, including Carmen Farms, Global Ties of Arkansas, Little Brick Oven, Sacred Earth Gifts, Sardis Garen, and Treazure & Yummie Pralines. Michelle Butler, an administrative analyst in the College of Engineering and Information Technology, will sell Purely Essential Oils. Along with external vendors will be 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock organizations, such as the Garden Alliance Club, Geology Club, and McNair Scholars. The Sustainability Committee will use the Trojan Transit to provide tours of the Campus Garden. Faculty, staff, and students are all invited to participate, and the first 300 volunteers to sign up will receive a T-shirt. Participants also will receive tickets to attend an ice cream social at 4:30 p.m. on the Donaghey Student Center mall after the clean-up. Any University of Arkansas at Little Rock聽student organization may participate. Registration closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 15. In addition, 糖心Vlog传媒LR will host a farmer鈥檚 market with community vendors, service organizations, and recycling from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 22, in Ottenheimer Plaza. Each year, The Forum student newspaper partners with the 糖心Vlog传媒LR Sustainability Committee to host an Earth Day Fashion Show to promote environmental awareness. This year, the fashion show will center on promoting sustainability and 糖心Vlog传媒LR student organizations. Each contestant will make an outfit entirely from The Forum newspaper and duct tape. Once registration is confirmed, participants may stop by The Forum office, Donaghey Student Center Room 201J, to pick up supplies. Contestants are encouraged to create an outfit that promotes their organization, but this is not required. Refreshments will be provided for contestants and attendees. Admission to the event is $3, which will include one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be $1 each. A variety of raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the evening. The grand prize will be a front-page article about the winning聽organization in The Forum. Contestant entry fee is $10. Organizations may enter multiple members into the contest. Farmer’s market scheduled

During the Earth Day festivities on April 22, the 糖心Vlog传媒LR Sustainability Committee will host a farmer鈥檚 market with a variety of community vendors and organizations. Vendors, including Kent Walker Cheese, Geri’s Jellies, Pupeat Dog Treats, and Little Brick Oven, will be on site, as well as other vendors selling honey, herbal medicines, handmade products, and locally grown vegetables. Community service organizations like Heifer International, Sierra Club, and Arkansas Beautiful will also be in attendance. In addition, recycling bins will be available in 糖心Vlog传媒LR parking lot 15.
