This also marked the largest fundraising year in the university鈥檚 history since receiving gifts for the Jack Stephens Center and the Windgate Center for Art and Design. More than 7,600 individuals, corporations, and private foundations gave 26,366 gifts between July 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019. This is the third consecutive year of gift growth. New endowments totaled $2,774,937, bringing 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 total endowment to more than $80 million. 鈥淭hese gifts from our generous donors support efforts to maintain our distinction as a recognized research university while advancing the social and economic well-being of our students and the community,鈥 said Chancellor Andrew Rogerson. 鈥淢aking college education affordable remains a top priority for 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. With the help of private philanthropy, the university is able to make a college education more affordable and ensure this generation has access to a world-class education close to home.鈥 One of the largest gifts this year includes a $754,000 gift from the Windgate Foundation supports the Windgate Center for Art and Design and its programs. 鈥淭he fundraising success 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock is experiencing is possible thanks to the generous donations of alumni, parents, foundations, friends, and businesses,鈥 said Christian O鈥橬eal, vice chancellor for university advancement. 鈥淥ur donors are helping to grow our city, our campus, and giving students a world of opportunity. We are extremely grateful for their support in changing lives.鈥澨 Trojan Athletics received more than $3 million this year. The Donaghey Foundation helped fund a $725,000 renovation of the Donaghey Athletic Center on 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 campus. The project provided significant upgrades and much-needed enhancements that have allowed the athletic program to better serve and prepare student-athletes for success. This investment has also helped the athletic program with recruitment of student-athletes and with competition for championships. All 15 Division I Trojan athletic programs are benefitting from several legacy gifts totaling more than $1 million from donors. Some of the gifts were in the form of three naming rights throughout the Jack Stephens Center. The Lot 16 entrance on the northwest corner is named the Dr. Bob Young Entrance. The student-athlete entrance, located on the ground floor, is the Mary and Rick Edwards Family Entrance. The Athletic Administrative offices located on the third floor are named the Patricia and Mark L. Pollack Athletics Suite. Included in the suite is the Victor Jacuzzi Family Office of Director of Athletics.听听 鈥淭he Little Rock Trojans continue to benefit from tremendous support from our community,鈥 said Chasse Conque, vice chancellor and director of athletics.This past year provided another strong fundraising campaign leading to nearly $7.5 million in support over the past two years which has directly enhanced our student-athlete experience.   • The university awarded $1.52 million in private scholarships, an all-time high. These scholarships helped students with tuition, books, and other school-related expenses. Some students who were near graduation but had particularly dire financial hardships received 鈥淟ast Mile鈥 funds to help them complete their degree.
  • The 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Alumni Association membership grew to a record 3,300 members听 and raised $113,452 in online gifts from 131 donors in one day. The popular Taste of Little Rock event also generated $141,000 in sponsorships, ticket sales, and in-kind and general donations.听
  • First-ever nationwide development efforts celebrated alumni in 21 cities across America. University events were held in Atlanta; Austin; Chicago; Dallas; and Hollywood.
  • $100,000 in private funding was awarded to 100 students for Signature Experience grants to pursue research and creative endeavor projects. This is the second year that 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock students could receive grants to work on faculty-mentored projects, allowing them to gain knowledge and skills to compete in a competitive work workforce after graduation.听
  • Forty-six percent of benefits-eligible employees donated through the annual faculty and staff giving campaign, demonstrating an investment in future students, faculty, and staff.

糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock exceeds fundraising goal, raises $18 million /news-archive/2018/07/10/fundraising/ Tue, 10 Jul 2018 14:00:29 +0000 /news/?p=71097 ... 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock exceeds fundraising goal, raises $18 million]]> The University of Arkansas at Little Rock finished the 2018 fiscal year with $18 million in private gift support, surpassing its annual goal and making it the third-best year in the university鈥檚 fundraising history. 鈥淥ne of our top priorities is to make a quality college education accessible and affordable in central Arkansas,鈥 Chancellor Andrew Rogerson said. 鈥淧rivate philanthropy is vital to providing this pathway to support student scholarships and experiential learning opportunities. 鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 be more grateful to our supporters who understand the value of a college degree and why supporting a university in Little Rock is good for everyone in central Arkansas and in the state.鈥 More than 7,400 individuals, corporations, and private foundations gave 24,642 gifts between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018. Twenty-nine new endowments, totalling nearly $1 million, were established during the 2018 fiscal year, bringing 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 听total endowment to more than $78 million. Among the gifts were nearly $1 million from Windgate Foundation to establish a professorship in applied art; $800,000 from Dr. Bruce Murphy, president and chief executive officer of , to benefit students in the College of Education and Health Professions; and nearly $1 million to create a more affordable pathway to a law degree for Pulaski County residents and future law students who want to practice law in the county. The money is part of the charitable component left over in a $45 million cigarette settlement fund. Private funding allowed for the creation of the Signature Research Experience Awards, a new program in 2017-18 that provided 79 students an opportunity to work with a faculty member on a research or creative works project. The program helps students gain knowledge and skills required to compete in a competitive workforce upon graduation. Trojan Athletics posted a banner year with $4.3 million in gifts designated for student-athlete support. 听The university鈥檚 largest gift was a $1.4 million gift from Greg Hatcher, chief executive officer of The Hatcher Agency, to start a NCAA Division I wrestling program in the state. 鈥淭he growth of interest and support for the Little Rock Trojans continues to make a significant impact on our athletics program,鈥 said Chasse Conque, director of athletics. 鈥淲e are most grateful for the generous contributions of our loyal donors who believe in our vision to elevate Trojan Athletics to heights we have not seen before.鈥 The 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Alumni Association also contributed to the university鈥檚 fundraising efforts. Many of these gifts will be used to make 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock more accessible and more affordable to more students.鈥 During the past three years, 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock raised $57.5 million, including a transformational gift from the Windgate Foundation for the construction of the Windgate Center of Art + Design. The nearly 65,000-square-foot facility is set to open for classes in January. As part of a related initiative, the university is working to complete a $3 million match for art scholarships. The university raised $750,000 toward that purpose during the recently completed fiscal year. In addition, the university set a record for athletics fundraising, raising $2 million in gifts and pledges, $4 million in student support, and $6.3 million in estate commitments. Alumni played a pivotal role in the university鈥檚 fundraising. 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Alumni Association lifetime memberships increased 42 percent from the previous year, and the association generated more than $250,000 in revenue. Little Rock Athletics breaks $2 million in fundraising during 2016-17]]> “We are most grateful to our generous supporters who continue to believe in our young people and the mission of Little Rock Trojan Athletics,” Director of Athletics Chasse Conque听said. “I appreciate the hard work of our external team, Director of Development and Sales Hannah Troillet听and our coaches for helping us engage our community in effectively raising much-needed private resources.” The Department of Athletics raised $2,090,371 during 2016-17, beating out the mark of $1,982,884 set in 2015-16. Individual donors were also up this year as 1,289 individual donors supported Little Rock’s Team with 2,743 total gifts. Several factors led to a strong fundraising year: increased giving by lettermen and alumni; Spectac糖心Vlog传媒LR 2016 which raised $228,000; and several successful efforts led by individual sports programs.
