The AMP Power Women for 2021 were nominated by readers. She has more than three decades of experience at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, and had previously served as a public policy researcher in the Center for Arkansas Initiatives, vice chancellor of university advancement, and chief government relations officer. Lee is a member of the inaugural class of the Civility Leadership Institute of General Wesley Clark鈥檚 organization, Renew America Together. 鈥淭here are so many women on this list for whom I have the greatest respect because of the amazing things they do every day that moves Arkansas forward.聽 I鈥檓 honored to be listed among them.聽 I feel privileged to work with an organization in 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock that impacts our state for the good and that I can be a part of that impact through my work.鈥 Milliorn heads up web, social media, and graphic design efforts for the university in the Office of Communications and Marketing. A 12-year veteran of 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, Milliorn is a 2019 winner of the coveted Red Stapler Award for giving a best of track presentation at the Higher Education Web Professionals Association. 鈥淚 am proud to be included in this list of outstanding women in Arkansas, but it’s especially meaningful to be included among these other female leaders at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock,鈥 Milliorn said. 鈥淭he past few years at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock have really shown how dedicated our staff and faculty are to fully supporting our students and helping them succeed. The fact that I can help communicate about and promote those programs and resources is really important to me, and I look forward to seeing all that we will accomplish as a university in the coming years.鈥 Reed is also a recent graduate of the Master of Public Administration Program at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, social media chair of 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 Phi Kappa Phi chapter, the 2021 Ben Fry Service to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Award winner, member of the Heartland of Arkansas United Way Board of Directors, and has recently been selected to join the Southern Regional Education Board Student Success Advisory Council. 鈥淚t is an honor to be nominated for the AMP Power Women for 2021,鈥 Reed said. 鈥淚 hope I can be a role model for other women in higher education but, most importantly, help students navigate their way through college to become future leaders in Arkansas!鈥 Phillips also serves as the director of the Multicultural Center at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock and is the former communications and special project coordinator in the Office of the Chancellor. She also serves as a mentor for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund, member of the Vera Lloyd Foundation Board, as well as an advisor for the University鈥檚 Gospel Choir. A native of El Dorado, Arkansas, she earned her bachelor鈥檚 degree from the University of Central Arkansas, and master鈥檚 and doctoral degrees from 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. “The women featured on the AMP Power Women for 2021 List are positively shaping their industries and enhancing their respective organizations in so many ways,鈥 Phillips said. 鈥淚t’s an honor to be included in such good company and to be recognized for doing the work that I love to do.” Small works with central Arkansas businesses to explore ways to partner and engage with 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. Prior to joining 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, she served as chair of PDC Construction and president and CEO of PDC Companies. Wesley Clark, a native of Little Rock, is the founder of Renew America Together. Lee is one of 30 people around the country who will participate in Renew America Together鈥檚 first Civility Leadership Institute. The program aims to engage a diverse set of political thinkers over a six-month program. 鈥淚’m honored to have been selected to participate in the inaugural class of the institute,鈥 Lee said. 鈥淚 very much hope to learn tools to promote civil discourse and consensus building around key policy areas affecting the university but also our communities in general.鈥 The institute鈥檚 first participants will gain insights about themselves and others and build leadership skills that will enable them to better communicate across the political spectrum. Participants will also apply what they learn to real-life situations where the consequences of their leadership matter. 鈥淭hese diverse individuals from across the country represent different backgrounds, beliefs, and demographic profiles,鈥 Gen. Clark said. 鈥淲e are encouraged that they recognize we need to work towards a more civil future and that they are hoping to help in this process by using the tools they will learn from our program.鈥 Participants will meet once a month virtually for six months and participate in 12 months of follow-up. Each month, they will work through a curriculum of national speakers and strengthen their relationships through civil discourse. Graduates will receive certifications in VitalSmart Crucial Conversations and TypeCoach Influence Training. The first institute will finish on Dec. 17, 2021. 鈥淭he class is an amazing mix of people from all sectors, parties, demographics and experiences,鈥 Lee said. 鈥淚 expect to learn so much from hearing that range of perspectives. He replaces Chasse Conque, who left the university in August to become vice chancellor and AD at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. 鈥淕eorge Lee鈥檚 experience with our Trojan Athletics program, along with his thorough understanding of every aspect of NCAA Division I collegiate athletics, make him highly qualified for the position,” said Drale. “He is well respected by his colleagues and is dedicated to the success of our student athletes. This two-year appointment will give us the opportunity to review and strengthen our program under the leadership of someone who knows the program well, understands our mission, and has critical institutional insight.鈥 Lee thanked Dr. Drale for the opportunity. 鈥淲e have an outstanding program of coaches and staff who will help me continue to move 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Athletics forward,” he said. “Our student-athletes are talented not only in their respective sports but also in the classroom. Faculty and staff lead in giving to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock]]> Faculty and staff at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock have once again surpassed the national average for faculty and staff giving with the 2018 ALL IN Campus Campaign. Last year, more than 700 faculty and staff members – 46 percent of all employees – contributed to the campaign. Faculty and staff giving is important to the university鈥檚 overall fundraising efforts because foundations and corporations look for a high percentage of employee giving when making funding decisions. The national average for faculty and staff giving is 25 percent. 鈥淭he level of support received from our faculty and staff members inspires,鈥 said Christian O鈥橬eal, vice chancellor for university advancement. 鈥淚 cannot express how grateful I am to serve with faculty and staff members who show their support.鈥 With the Campus Campaign, the emphasis is on participation rather than dollar amounts. 鈥淓ach gift, whether $1 or $1,000, is truly significant,鈥 said Samantha Wiley, director of annual giving. Funds raised through the annual Campus Campaign provide funding for programs, department and scholarships. 鈥淎s a faculty member and parent of a 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock alum, I鈥檝e witnessed the impact first-hand that these scholarships can have on a student鈥檚 success,鈥 said Tom Clifton, chair of the Department of Art and Design and a Campus Campaign steering committee member. 鈥淚 think it鈥檚 important that we commit to the university as we ask others to do so.鈥 Aresh Assadi, another member of the Campus Campaign steering committee, said the level of faculty and staff participation is a point of pride for the university. 鈥淎s a first-generation student who has benefited immensely from receiving a college education, I am happy to be a part of this steering committee,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 believe that we are raising money for a great cause, and it has been incredibly heartwarming to witness the commitment that our faculty and staff have for our students. The internal giving rate at this campus is much higher than most.鈥 Recurring payroll deductions increased by 2 percent in 2018 over 2017. Additionally, the Office of Alumni and Development received several new planned giving commitments which will benefit students in perpetuity. Campus Departments with 100 percent participation in the campaign received commemorative 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock water bottles provided by the alumni association. Lee, Conque named vice chancellors at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock]]> Two members of the Chancellor’s Cabinet at the University of Arkansas have new titles. Joni Lee is now vice chancellor for university affairs, and Chasse Conque will serve as vice chancellor and director of athletics. These title changes better reflect their duties on the Cabinet and bring consistency to the group, Chancellor Andrew Rogerson said. Lee has held numerous titles during her 30 years with the university. She started as a public policy researcher in the Center for Arkansas Initiatives, then worked as part of the university’s research and public service unit. She became coordinator of university advancement in 1990 where she developed and coordinated a legislative relations program for 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. In 1999, she was named associate vice chancellor of university advancement. In 2014, that title was changed to chief government relations officer. As vice chancellor, Lee will continue to work with government and federal agencies to elevate 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock’s position in the region. Conque started with 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock in 2006 as manager of donor relations in the Office of Development. He followed this with four years in the Department of Athletics as director of development. Conque left in 2011 to become senior director of development for the 糖心Vlog传媒MS College of Medicine before returning to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock in 2015 as 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 athletics director to lead the university鈥檚 Division I athletics program. Since then, Conque has spearheaded major rebranding of the athletic department, led aggressive basketball season-ticket campaigns, created the annual fundraising event Spectac糖心Vlog传媒LR, and will oversee the launch of a new wrestling program. As vice chancellor, Conque will continue to promote Trojan pride on the campus and in the community.]]>
