ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ Little Rock announces 2019 soccer signing class]]>  has announced his 2019 signing class.  Among the 12 signees are Bizzy Canada, Marthe Taugbol, Kenedie St. Mary, Mari Young, Maddy Peake, Jessica Carmichael, Aislyn Sullivan, Julia Edwards, Ziva Payer, Allison Morrison, Emma Thompson, and Sarah Ovalle. This group of players will join the program this summer and begin competing for Little Rock in the fall of 2019. “I am very pleased to announce our 2019 signing class,” Foster said. “The young ladies we have signed today are not only great soccer players, but more importantly, they are a wonderful group of girls. They have the right character and personality to fit in with the culture of excellence at Little Rock soccer, and help us build on the recent success in the classroom and on the pitch.” Bizzy Canada is a fullback from Plano Senior High School in Plano, Texas. She played for FC Dallas under coach Matt Veasey. Marthe Taugbol, a central midfielder, joins the Trojans as another international signing as she comes to Little Rock from the Norwegian College of Elite Sports. She played for her club FL Fart under Finn Willy Taugboel, Henrik Digernes and Inger Ane Hol. Kenedie St. Mary is a defender from The Woodlands High School in Texas. St. Mary played for Challenge Soccer Club under Russell Gee and Pat O’Toole. Mari Young comes to Little Rock from Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School in Ontario, Canada as yet another international player signs with the Trojans. She is a forward who played for Burlington Youth Soccer Club under Casey Downey, Dino Colarossi and Alex Mickalow. Maddy Peake is a forward from McKinney High School in Texas. She played for Solar Soccer Club under Volkan Ozcomert. Jessica Carmichael joins the Trojans as a forward from Dripping Springs High School in Texas. She played for the Austin Texas 00G under JD Cochran. Aislyn Sullivan is a midfielder from Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. Sullivan played for United Soccer Academy Mount Pleasant under Kian Brownlee. Coming from Keller, Texas is forward Julia Edwards. She lettered at Keller High School and played for FC Dallas ECNL under coach Dan Mariscal. Ziva Payer, a forward, will also to Little Rock from Dripping Springs High School in Texas. She played for the Austin Texas 00G under JD Cochran. Allison Morrison joins the maroon and silver as a defender from Collierville High School in Tennessee. She played for the Lobos under Clint Browne. Emma Thompson is a forward from McKinney Christian Academy in Texas. Thompson played for Dallas Texans 01 under coach Jon Patterson. Rounding out the 2019 class is midfielder Sarah Ovalle from Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas, Texas. She played for Dallas Texans under Jon Patterson. “With this signing class we have added strength and depth to every position within our squad,” Foster said. “By adding this freshman group to a brilliant group of returning players; the future is bright for Trojans soccer.” This is Foster’s second recruiting class after taking over the Little Rock soccer program for his first season in 2018. We have our natural rivalry games against Central Arkansas and ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½PB, so we have some big non-conference games, followed by an always challenging Sun Belt schedule where we get to host the reigning champions in South Alabama and the rivalry game against Arkansas State. We’re ready to get going and are excited to see the Little Rock community come out and support this team.” The regular season for Foster’s inaugural season begins Friday, Aug. 17, when the Trojans make the short trip up Interstate 40 to Conway to face rival Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. That leads into Little Rock’s first-ever tilt against SEC foe Kentucky as the Trojans will host the Wildcats at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19. The Trojans make a trip to Springfield, Missouri, facing Missouri State on Friday, August 24, before closing out the month of August hosting in-state foe Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 7 p.m. before welcoming Austin Peay to Little Rock on Friday, Aug. 31, for a 7 p.m. kick on what will be Senior Day for the Trojans. September begins with a trip to Itta Bena, Mississippi, facing Mississippi Valley State on Sunday, Sept. 2, leading into another key home match against Big 12 foe TCU on Friday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. as the Trojans and Horned Frogs will meet for the first time since 1992. The final non-conference game of the 2018 schedule takes Little Rock to the Lone Star state, returning the home-and-home contest at Sam Houston State on Sunday, Sept. 9.

The match against the Bearkats begins a tough stretch for the Trojans, who play five of the next six in enemy territory. That swing begins with the start of Sun Belt Conference play at Coastal Carolina Friday, Sept. 14, then continue on to face Appalachian State on Sunday, Sept. 16. Little Rock’s first home conference match will be held on Friday, Sept. 21, when the Trojans welcome Georgia State to Arkansas for a 7:30 p.m. match. The Trojans then head back on the road, traveling to Texas State on Friday, Sept. 28, before heading east to Monroe, Louisiana, to face ULM on Sunday, Sept. 30. The month of October will provide plenty of home cooking, however, as Little Rock closes out the 2018 regular season playing four of its final five contests at Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex. That stretch begins on Sunday, Oct. 7, when the Trojans play host to defending Sun Belt champion South Alabama at 1 p.m., marking coach Foster’s first contest against his former team. The final road match of the regular season takes the Trojans to Lafayette, Louisiana, for a showdown with the Ragin’ Cajuns on Friday, Oct. 12, leading into three-straight home matches to close out the season. The first of those will be the annual rivalry showdown with Arkansas State as the Trojans and Red Wolves will tangle at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14. Little Rock then hosts Troy on Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. before the regular season finale against Georgia Southern on Sunday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. The matches against the Alabama Trojans and the Eagles marks Little Rock’s Family Weekend for the 2018 season. Once again, the Sun Belt Conference tournament will be held at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Alabama, being held Wednesday, Oct. 31, through Sunday, Nov. 4. The Trojans will look to add to their postseason resume as Little Rock has advanced to the tournament semifinals in each of the past two seasons. Dates announced for 2018 Trojan Soccer Academy]]> has announced the dates for the 2018 Trojan Soccer Academy, holding three camps during the month of June.  Foster and his staff will host a pair of four-day sessions, available to boys and girls ages 5-12. These day camps will be held from June 11-15 and June 18-22 from 9-11 a.m. at a cost of $120. The Academy will also offer a Little Rock ID Camp, open to girls entering the 8th through 12th grades. This camp will be a three-day overnight camp, beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, June 15. It will continue with a pair of practices Saturday, June 16, along with a tour of the Little Rock athletic facilities and campus, and conclude with a morning session on Sunday, June 17. The cost of the ID camp is $150. All camps will be held at the Coleman Sports and Recreation Complex, the home of the Little Rock Trojans. Registration is . All games on the spring schedule will be played in the central Arkansas region.  “These spring games are the perfect opportunity for me to see the girls in action without the pressure that comes in the fall, allowing them to get to know some of my tactical ideas,” Foster said. “The team has worked extremely hard in our off-season workouts as the general level of fitness has improved. But there’s nothing quite like the joy of playing games.” Little Rock then plays host to the Toronto Blizzard, a training program for aspiring collegiate players, on Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. Little Rock then plays host to both Tulsa and Missouri State on Saturday, March 31, at the Coleman Sports Complex. The match against the Golden Hurricane gets underway at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. start against the Bears. The Trojans’ lone road game of the spring schedule will take place on Wednesday, April 4, when Little Rock makes the trek north of the river to Conway, facing Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. The 2018 spring schedule comes to a close on April 7-8 at Burns Park as the Trojans will compete in the annual event which raises funds for the Arkansas Chapter of the Komen for Cure Foundation. “We have a good mixture of opponents – Division I, Division II, and a Canadian club team,” Foster said. “I think the games will be competitive, and I’m excited for our fans to get their first look at our team as we gear up for the 2018 Sun Belt Conference schedule.” All games are open to the public and are free of charge. 2018 Little Rock Soccer Spring Schedule

Larson joins the Trojans with a successful background as both a coach and a player and will work primarily with the Little Rock goalkeepers.  “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Audra to our staff,” Foster said. “She had an incredibly successful playing career and know she’ll bring those high standards to our program as our assistant coach. She’ll do a great job with our goalkeepers and is someone that has a talent to be able to establish positive relationships within our team.” Larson comes to Little Rock after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee. In her two years with the Phoenix, she helped guide the team to a 27-10-3 record, including a 12-1-1 mark in Mid-South Conference play. Cumberland held its opponents to a 1.05 goals against average during that span, winning an undefeated conference title in 2017. Larson established herself as one of the top goalkeepers in the country during her playing career at Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, setting an NCAA record for both men’s and women’s soccer with 68 career shutouts in net. Larson also set the NCAA record for consecutive shutouts with 55 and was a key figure in helping lead the Falcons to the 2012 Division III national championship as a freshman. For her career, Larson finished with an 88-4-8 record in goal with a 0.24 goals against average and 158 saves in 100 matches, totaling just shy of 8,888 minutes in net. She was an NSCAA second team All-Mid-Atlantic Region and second team All-MAC Commonwealth selection as a senior, earning honorable mention honors as both a sophomore and junior. Larson helped guide Messiah to three conference championships and four postseason appearances, advancing to the Final Four as a senior. A native of Montoursville, Pennsylvania, Larson earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Messiah in 2016, followed by her master’s degree in sport management from Cumberland in 2017. With Larson making her debut on the Trojan sideline last Thursday, Little Rock opened its spring schedule with a 3-0 win over Harding at the Coleman Sports Complex. Foster brings with him an impressive background both as a coach and a player, including multiple championships and record-setting performances.   “Little Rock Athletics is excited to announce the hiring of Mark Foster as our next soccer coach,” Athletic Director Chasse Conque said. “There was a high level of interest in this position, which says a lot about this program, our university and the Little Rock community. We have seen significant growth in our soccer program the last several years and we are confident Mark will help take the program to the next level.” Foster comes to Little Rock after spending the past season at Sun Belt Conference rival South Alabama, serving as an assistant coach. In 2017, Foster helped lead the Jaguars to both the Sun Belt regular season and tournament titles as South Alabama finished 14-6-1 overall and 9-1-0 in conference play, advancing to the NCAA tournament. “When I heard the Little Rock job was open, the temptation and the potential was too much to turn down the opportunity,” Foster said. “Having coached against Little Rock, I knew how good those players and that program was. Little Rock has developed into one of the top teams in the Sun Belt, and I’m excited to add to that and help the program continue to grow. I’d like to thank Athletic Director Chasse Conque and Chancellor Andrew Rogerson for this opportunity and their trust and faith in me. I’m excited to get going in Little Rock and get to work with the team.” Prior to his time in Mobile, Foster spent six seasons at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, spending the last four as the Trojans’ head coach. During his time at his alma mater, Foster compiled an overall record of 40-27-8, making his mark as the second-winningest coach in program history. In his four seasons at the helm of the Trojans, Foster posted a 29-13-6 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play, finishing first in 2016 and tying for second in 2014. He was twice named the G-MAC Coach of the Year (2014 and 2016), posting two of the top-three winningest seasons in Trojan program history. After going 6-10-2 in 2013, Foster posted three-straight winning seasons, beginning with the 12-5-2 campaign in 2014, which included a 7-1-2 mark in G-MAC play, finishing tied for second. The Trojans posted a 9-7-3 mark in 2015, going 7-5-2 in conference play, leading up to the 13-5-1 campaign in 2016, including the 11-3 record in G-MAC play to capture the league title. Foster coached 21 all-Great Midwest Athletic Conference honorees at Trevecca, including five all-region recipients and a CoSIDA Academic All-American. Prior to becoming the Trojans’ head coach, Foster spent two seasons as an assistant at Trevecca, his alma mater. He was a key component of the Trojans’ 2012 G-MAC championship team which finished the season 16-5-3 and advanced to the NCCAA national semifinals. Foster began his coaching career at the Brentwood Soccer Club in Nashville in 2009, serving as the head coach of the ’93 Premier Division I state championship team. He also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Donelson Christian Academy in Donelson, Tennessee. As a player, Foster left his mark on the Trevecca record book, finishing his career as the school’s all-time leader in both goals (41) and points (95) while tying for first all-time in assists (13). Foster helped guide the Trojans to 29 victories during his collegiate career, being named the TranSouth Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2008 and Freshman of the Year in 2005. Foster was a four-time all-conference selection, earning first team honors in 2005 and 2008 while being named to the second team in 2006 and 2007. He was also a two-time TranSouth Scholar-Athlete and was named to the Trevecca Nazarene Athletic Hall of Fame in 2017, holding the distinction of being the only player in program history to have his number retired. A native of Newcastle, Ireland, Foster played for the Kilmore Recreation Football Club in the Irish Premiere Football League. He is married to the former Jessica Leary, who played both softball and soccer at Trevecca, and the couple has one son, Campbell.]]>
