Researcher to discuss chemical weapons treaty April 27]]> Dr. Jonathan Forman, science policy adviser at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, will present his research, 鈥淪cience in Multilateral Chemical Disarmament,鈥� at 2 p.m. in the Engineering and Information Technology auditorium. His research topic addresses the role of science in the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention, an international disarmament treaty for weapons of mass destruction. Forman鈥檚 work will emphasize the influence of the scientist鈥檚 work on international diplomacy and analyze the challenges of scientist-policymaker engagement. Forman has long been an advocate for emerging technologies. After receiving his Ph.D. in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology, he worked to develop molecular diagnostic and bioanalytical assay technologies. His work eventually led him to become an independent consultant for the process and product development of chip-based assessment platforms.
