The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall in the Fine Arts Building on the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock campus. A complimentary reception of hors d鈥檕euvres and wine will follow the concert. The 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Department of Music and the Chamber Music Society of Little Rock sponsored the event. The ensemble will deliver an inspired performance, including Mendelssohn鈥檚 Quartet in F minor, Op. 80; Shulamit Ran鈥檚 Quartet No. 3, 鈥淕litter, Doom, Shards, Memory;鈥 and Beethoven鈥檚 Quartet in B-flat major, Op. 130, with Gro脽e Fuge , Op. 133. Recognized for its virtuosity, exuberant performance style, and often-daring repertory choices, the Pacifica Quartet has achieved international recognition over the past 25 years as one of the finest chamber ensembles performing today. The Pacifica Quartet has carved a niche for itself as the preeminent interpreter of string quartet cycles, harnessing the group鈥檚 singular focus and incredible stamina to portray each composer鈥檚 evolution. The members of the Pacifica Quartet live in Bloomington, Indiana, where they serve as quartet-in-residence and full-time faculty members at Indiana University鈥檚 Jacobs School of Music. Prior to their appointment, the Quartet was on the faculty of the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana from 2003 to 2012, and also served as resident performing artist at the University of Chicago for 17 years.聽 General admission tickets are $25 each.
