Civil liberties advocate to speak April 18]]> Walker鈥檚 presentation, which will cover the changes and struggles of racial justice in America over the past 50 years, will be in the Arkla Room in 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Ross Hall. The public is invited to attend. The author鈥檚 talk is supported through the 糖心Vlog传媒LR Department of Criminal Justice鈥檚 2014 Sheriff Orval Walker Lecture Series. A professor emeritus at the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska, Walker has taught at that university since 1974. He received a doctorate in American History from Ohio State University in 1973. He is the author of 14 books on policing, crime policy, and civil liberties. In 2012, he was called as an expert witness for the plaintiffs in a lawsuit that challenged the unconstitutional stops and frisks by the New York City Police Department.
