Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe congratulated 40 Latino and Hispanic scholarship recipients during the League of United Latin American Citizens鈥� annual scholarship banquet held Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Governor鈥檚 Mansion.

Almost half of the LULAC scholarships awarded this year are going to 糖心Vlog传媒LR students.

Three 糖心Vlog传媒LR professors, Drs. Jeff Gaffney, Sarah Lewis, and Jeff Nash, will discuss climate change and its effects on economy, food sources, and the people of Arkansas from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Second Presbyterian Church.

At first glance, a garden irrigation system and smog-eating concrete have little, if anything, in common. But both concepts aim to incorporate sustainability into academics, each winning this year’s micro-grant competition at 糖心Vlog传媒LR. The ideas will now become full-fledged and fully funded projects thanks to the Sustainability Committee.

Five 糖心Vlog传媒LR students will be among those honored Friday, Oct. 26, at the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) annual Scholarship Banquet.

A group of experimental and archaeology students will present a program on 鈥淏uilding a Community One House at a Time鈥� at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, at Toltec Mounds State Park.

The Toltec Station Archeologist and 糖心Vlog传媒LR Anthropology Students will celebrate Arkansas Archaeology Month by building a Woodland Period Southeastern House at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11.

Elizabeth Bintliff, interim vice president of Heifer International鈥檚 Africa Program, will help 糖心Vlog传媒LR celebrate International Women鈥檚 Day Thursday, March 8, with a lecture titled 鈥淲omen and Development.鈥�

A screening of 鈥淧laying Fair: The Media Image of the Female Athlete鈥� and a discussion of female athleticism will be presented at 6 p.m. Friday, March 2, in 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Donaghey Student Center Room D.

糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Gender Studies Program presents a brown bag panel discussion from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, titled, 鈥淢en and Gender: Perspectives on Masculinity, Male Identity, and Desire.”
