Theatre department to kick-off first performance of the season Oct. 11]]> Join the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Department of Theatre Arts and Dance for its first major stage production of the fall 2017-18 season – 鈥淭he All Night Strut.鈥 The musical revue, conceived by Fran Charnas, is directed by Stephen K. Stone with musical direction by Michael Heavner. 聽The cast of singers and dancers聽will entertain guests with musical numbers inspired by artists from the 1930s and 40s, including Lena Horne, Perry Como, and Dinah Shore. Performances will run from Wednesday, Oct. 11, to Sunday, Oct. 15, in the University Theatre. The Wednesday through Saturday shows will begin at 7:30 p.m., while the Sunday performance will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in the theatre鈥檚 Box Office, located on the first floor of the Fine Arts building, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, or they can be purchased online. The cost of tickets is $5 for 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock community members, military personnel, and senior citizens. Tickets for the general public are $10. The first production, 鈥淭he All Night Strut,鈥 will be staged Wednesday, Oct. 11, through Sunday, Oct. 15, in the University Theatre. Attendees will take a trip down memory lane, enjoying songs and dance from the 1930s and 40s. The fall dance performance, Dance Harvest 2017, will run from Thursday, Nov. 16, to Sunday, Nov. 19. Distinguished faculty and guest artists will perform center stage in the University Theatre with modern, jazz, and ballet styles of dance. The Theatre Department hopes to spark conversation with its spring performance of An Octoroon, a theatrical tale of race in present-day America. Performances will take place Wednesday, Feb. 21, through Sunday, Feb. 25, in the Haislip Theatre. The final production of the season will be the annual spring dance concert, BodyWorks 2018. Students whose work was selected for presentation at the American College Dance Association Conference, along with faculty members and guest artists, will perform Thursday, April 19, to Sunday, April 22. Most performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. Dance Harvest 2017 and BodyWorks 2018 will have performances that begin at 7 p.m. All Sunday shows will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the theatre鈥檚 Box Office from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and can be purchased online.
