糖心Vlog传媒LR Chancellor Joel E. Anderson has urged members of the Little Rock Technology Park Authority Board to consider other potential sites for the research park in addition to those already proposed.

Joel Dunlap fell in love with the restaurant business when he flipped his first hamburger at his McDonald鈥檚 job at the age of 14.聽Last fall, the Philadelphia native graduated magna cum laude from 糖心Vlog传媒LR with a major in marketing and went back to his first love.

Students, faculty, staff, and their families from the 糖心Vlog传媒LR School of Social Work will volunteer 150 hours of service from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King鈥檚 legacy.

An expert on walkability aims to improve pedestrian safety by conducting a ‘walking audit’ of the University District.

Dr. David Montague, associate professor of criminology at 糖心Vlog传媒LR and director of its Senior Justice Center, will present a workshop to seniors and their families and caretakers who live in the University District from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at the Bailey Alumni Center at 28th Street and Campus Drive West.

David Nelson, a member of the national board for AARP, Wednesday will tour the University District, which has been been selected for a project focused on improving the quality of life.

Neighborhood participants in a month-long effort to develop ideas for improving opportunities for children and youth outside the classroom will report their ideas from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at the Willie Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center at 3805 W. 12th St.

Julie Hall, director of the University District Educational Network, is helping organize community conversations about learning opportunities children and youth have outside of school time in central Little Rock.

A newly renovated home in the Fair Park neighborhood is now up for sale by the University District Development Corp., which is offering eligible first-time homeowners a $20,000 subsidy for the down payment and closing costs.
