Following the event, free lunch will be provided to veterans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Diamond Cafe. The ceremony is a part of 糖心Vlog传媒LR鈥檚 Veterans Appreciation Week Nov. 7-11. The week will kick off with a slideshow honoring 糖心Vlog传媒LR veterans that will be featured on television monitors throughout campus during the week. 糖心Vlog传媒LR veterans are encouraged to fill out this online form to be included in the slideshow. All members of the 糖心Vlog传媒LR community are encouraged to retrieve honor stars from the Office of Records and Registration to honor veterans. Stars will be placed on the glass bridge between the Student Services Center and the Donaghey Student Center. The 糖心Vlog传媒LR Veterans Affairs Open House will commence from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Student Services Center Room 118. Participants can meet the school鈥檚 veterans as well as explore an exhibit of collectibles, keepsakes, and articles about life in the military. On Nov. 9, former service members will gather in the Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a veterans lunch. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., community members can show their support during the Heart of a Servicemember Selfie event in the Donaghey Student Center. Participants are asked to upload a photo with the Happy Veterans Day sign to social media using #HappyVeteransDay2016. 糖心Vlog传媒LR students and employees are encouraged to wear red, white, and blue to honor those who have served our country on Nov. 10. Plenty 糖心Vlog传媒LR homecoming, veterans appreciation activities remain]]> Veterans Appreciation Week events that remain as of Wednesday, Nov. 11, include an opportunity for students to meet with other students in the military, a chance to attend a Veterans Day ceremony, and an opportunity to participate in the Veterans Career Workshops and Fair. As part of the 糖心Vlog传媒LR homecoming festivities, previously held during the winter, the 糖心Vlog传媒LR community is invited to cheer on the Trojans, starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, as the men鈥檚 basketball team competes against Central Baptist in the Jack Stephens Center. That Saturday, a homecoming queen also will be crowned, and student organization awards will be given. The theme for this year鈥檚 celebration is 鈥淗ome Sweet Homecoming.鈥 Leading up to the home games, students may watch and compete in a cardboard boat regatta and participate in a pep rally, among many other events. The cardboard boat races will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, in the Donaghey Student Center鈥檚 aquatics center. Awards will be given to the most creative boat design and best dressed team as well as for team spirit and most spectacular sinking. After the boat races, a pep rally will be held at 6 p.m. in the Jack Stephens Center鈥檚 main entrance. The following is a list of remaining homecoming and veterans events:

Veterans Appreciation Week set]]> A Veterans Day ceremony honoring all veterans will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 11 in the Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Hall. Guest speaker Drew County District Judge Sara Hartness is scheduled to give the keynote address. Like many members of her family, Hartness is a proud veteran, and she served in the Signal Corps in Heidelberg, Germany. 糖心Vlog传媒LR Chancellor Dr. Joel E. Anderson will start the ceremony with welcome remarks, and a moment of silence will be held in memory of the fallen. Student veterans will be honored, and an Excellence in Service to Veterans award will be presented. This year, the university plans to honor service members who are current 糖心Vlog传媒LR students, alumni, or employees by featuring them on a digital honor wall. Active or retired service members are encouraged to complete a form here to be featured on the digital wall. The honor wall will be on display throughout campus during the week.
