糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock to Host 2023 Research and Creative Works Expo April 21
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will hold its annual Student Research and Creative Works Expo from 1 to 4 p.m. April 21 in the Jack Stephens Center.
The Expo features the latest research, innovation, creative projects, and student diversity at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. Undergraduate and graduate students from all majors and departments are welcome to present.
鈥淲e have taken steps to make sure everyone is welcome,鈥� Dr. Michael Moore, director of undergraduate research and mentoring, said. 鈥淲e have really tried to think outside of our own houses. It鈥檚 truly for everybody, not one select person or area.鈥�
Students will present from 1 to 4 p.m., with judging happening from 1 to 3 p.m.
In collaboration with the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Department of Communications, McNair Scholars Program, and the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Graduate School, the Undergraduate Research and Creative Works Committee will host a two-day 鈥淏uild a Better Poster鈥� workshop series Tuesday, March 28, and Thursday, March 30, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in room 509 in the Ottenheimer Library. The first workshop will focus on how to condense research into the confines of a poster; and the second will focus on how best to present a poster to an audience.
鈥淲e want to help encourage people to participate and bring their ideas and give them some more training instead of having them do it on their own,鈥� Moore said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 really critical to provide students with the opportunity to take pride in their work, and then allow for their friends, family, and colleagues to celebrate it.鈥�
Students with the most impressive research will be judged and awarded by the Undergraduate Research and Creative Works Committee. Not only is there skill development incentive for participating in this event, there is financial incentive as well.
The Expo is free and open to the public, allowing members of the Little Rock or campus community to attend the presentations.
