Elizabeth Pierce is an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Information Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She joined the faculty in August 2006 as part of 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 efforts to launch the first Master of Science in Information Quality. Prior to coming to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, Elizabeth Pierce taught for 11 years at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
She holds a Ph.D. in Statistics & Management Science from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Iona College, and Bachelor of Science degrees in Quantitative Business Analysis and Mathematics from Penn State. In 2013, the International Association for Information and Data Quality recognized Dr. Pierce with their Distinguished Service Award for her dedication to the information quality profession as well as to IAIDQ and its members.
As a faculty member at the University of Little Arkansas at Rock, she played an instrumental role in establishing the graduate program in information quality. Under her leadership, the Information Science Department has expanded its original undergraduate offering of a BS in Information Science to now include a BA in Web Design & Development. In addition to the Information Quality Graduate Program, the department now offers and Information Science Graduate Program for students interested in advanced studies in data analytics and complex information systems. She has also worked with 糖心Vlog传媒MS to update and streamline the Joint 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock/糖心Vlog传媒MS Graduate Program in Bioinformatics to better position this program to meet the needs of academia and industry for analyzing and developing聽new聽applications involving bio data.
Her academic leadership and research have significantly advanced the cause of information and data quality landscape both nationally and internationally. In collaboration with members of the IAIDQ Board of Directors, Dr. Pierce has successfully completed four important industry survey studies that explore topics of critical interest to information and data quality professionals. These include 鈥淭he State of Information and Data Quality鈥 (2012), 鈥淭he State of Information and Data Governance鈥 (2008 and 2016), and 鈥淭he Information/Data Quality Salary and Job Satisfaction Report鈥 (2009). In addition, she is the co-editor of the AMIS Monograph on Information Quality, and the author of numerous research articles appearing in numerous books, journals, conference proceedings, and newsletters.
