As a curious freshman, Sheranden Miller walked up to university photographer Ben Krain and asked if he needed an assistant. Four years later, she鈥檚 graduating with a portfolio of real-world experience and a full-time career already underway.

A Little Rock native, Miller has spent her time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock turning initiative into opportunity. A mass communication major with an emphasis in media production and a minor in digital marketing, she built her college experience around hands-on work that prepared her for life after graduation.

鈥淚鈥檝e always been the type of person where if you don鈥檛 ask, you don鈥檛 know,鈥 Miller said. 鈥淎nd the worst thing they can say is no.鈥

That mindset paid off almost immediately. Just days after introducing herself to Krain, Miller was assisting on photography assignments, beginning a mentorship that would shape her creative voice and professional growth over the next four years.

鈥淗e鈥檚 not even just a mentor 鈥 he鈥檚 genuinely a friend,鈥 Miller said.

Through that experience, Miller developed a strong portfolio that helped her land an internship with Little Rock-based marketing and advertising firm Marian Agency. There, she creates content for clients, including South on Main (SoMa 501), gaining real-world experience working with brands and engaging with the local community.

After graduation, Miller will transition into a full-time role with the agency鈥攁n opportunity she credits in part to the work she began as a freshman.

鈥淚 feel like what I鈥檝e learned has already prepared me for the real world,鈥 she said.

Miller said 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock stood out not only for its opportunities but also for its accessibility. With the help of scholarships and campus support, she will graduate debt-free, allowing her to focus on building her future instead of worrying about financial barriers.

鈥淎nytime that I needed help, the school helped me,鈥 she said.

Beyond academics and career preparation, Miller found community through her involvement on campus. As a member of the Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps, she participated in service, networking, and leadership development opportunities that connected her with mentors and peers. She also served on the board of the Rainbow Alliance, helping create an inclusive space for students and planning campus events.

鈥淚t allows you to connect with people and be part of a community,鈥 she said.

Those relationships extended into the classroom, where Miller said faculty support played a key role in her success.

鈥淭hey really care about the students and the work that you do,鈥 she said.

Now graduating cum laude, Miller reflects on her time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock with a mix of excitement and anticipation. While stepping into a full-time career marks a major transition, she says she feels ready.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a big change, but I feel prepared and hopeful for the future,鈥 she said.

For current and future students, Miller鈥檚 advice is simple: take initiative and make the most of every opportunity.

鈥淐ollege is what you make of it,鈥 she said. 鈥淧ut yourself out there, network and find ways to learn and create.鈥

An unforgettable week is on the horizon for Ragen Hodge and Sutton Manatt. The University of Arkansas at Little Rock students are preparing to graduate this May, compete in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Track and Field Championships, and get married鈥攁ll within the span of just one week.

Hodge, a native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Manatt, a native of Hot Springs, Arkansas, were both introduced to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock through athletics. Hodge competes in jumps for Little Rock Track and Field, while Manatt is a pole vaulter.

The couple will compete on the day of the university鈥檚 official commencement ceremony but plan to participate in the Athletics ceremony the following Monday. Their wedding is set for Thursday, May 21.

鈥淚 am absolutely stoked to start this new chapter. I鈥檓 going to miss vaulting and running track, having a team, etc., but this new chapter is so exciting! Having a degree and chasing another, and getting to do that with my wife鈥攕ign me up!鈥 Manatt said.

Hodge learned of the Donaghey Scholars Program and decided to apply to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock.

鈥淚 was drawn to the scholarship opportunities, the chance to compete in track and field at the collegiate level, and the opportunity to study abroad through the Donaghey Scholars Honors Program,鈥 Hodge said. 鈥淏ecause of the DSHP funding and study abroad, I was able to continue studying Spanish in addition to my biology and pre-med studies, which has opened so many doors and allowed me to pursue new volunteer opportunities in the medical field that I would otherwise not have been able to.鈥

Manatt said his understanding of the university expanded during his athletic visit.

鈥淚t wasn鈥檛 until I came on my athletic visit that I learned about all the opportunities like Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps (CLC), Chi Alpha, and so much more. I fell in love with how close-knit the track team was and how much the coaches and admin really cared for the program and all the athletes,鈥 Manatt said. 鈥溙切腣log传媒 Little Rock has so many opportunities for students to graduate with no student loans, and with grad school in mind, that was huge for my family,鈥

Hodge is graduating with a double major in Spanish and biology, while Manatt is graduating with a degree in biology.

鈥淭hrough personal and volunteering experiences, I came to see a significant need for compassionate, culturally competent healthcare in our communities and realized that medical school will give me the opportunity to one day fill this need,鈥 Hodge said.

Sutton was inspired to pursue physical therapy during his time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock.

鈥淚 wanted to help people like me who have had injuries, back problems, health issues鈥攁ll of the above. I want to be someone who can make a difference. In my years here at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, I鈥檝e had so many different injuries, but each one of them I鈥檝e been able to come back stronger because of our ATs (athletic trainers) and PTs (physical therapists),鈥 Manatt said.

Both Hodge and Manatt reflected on moments during their time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock that made them especially proud. For Hodge, studying abroad in Valencia, Spain, stands out as a defining experience.

鈥淥ne moment that has made me especially proud academically and personally was when I studied abroad in Valencia, Spain. After a couple weeks, I was able to confidently navigate the city and get to class, and I realized that I was actively living in a dream that I never thought I would be brave enough to make a reality,鈥 Hodge said.

鈥淢y time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock greatly increased my confidence in my abilities, thanks to every professor who poured into me and encouraged me along the way,鈥 she said.

Manatt pointed to his success with the track and field team as a source of pride.

鈥淥ne thing that I鈥檓 especially proud of is the three Track and Field championship rings that I get to wear. Being a part of a winning team was always something I dreamed of, especially on the D1 level.鈥 Manatt said.

鈥淭he bond that I鈥檝e created with my guys on the team is something I鈥檒l cherish and never forget,鈥 he said.

They shared that the close bond with their team will be what they miss most after graduation.

鈥淚 am definitely going to miss getting to live and train and study with this group of people that are more like family than friends at this point, and I think it will be a big transition to not always have my workout and study buddies with me everywhere I go,鈥 Hodge said.

鈥淢y circle of guys that I鈥檓 around most are so influential in my life. A few are going to be in my wedding, and many more are guys I know I can call at any time, and they will have my back or be there for me in an instant,鈥 Manatt said.

After graduation, the couple will be moving to Oklahoma. Both have been accepted into the University of Oklahoma, where Hodge will attend medical school and Manatt will pursue physical therapy school.

As they prepare for their move to Oklahoma, both reflect on the significance of being closer to family in this next chapter.

鈥淒uring our time here at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, we have been able to spend more time with Sutton鈥檚 family, and it has been such a joy and blessing to have their support and get to know them over the past four years. I am really excited now to have that same opportunity with my family during our next chapter of life, and I hope that Sutton will be as encouraged by the support and love from my family during PT school as I was by his family during undergrad,鈥 Hodge said.

鈥淚 joked with Sutton a couple of years ago that we would spend our undergraduate years here in Little Rock, in his home state and near his family, and then it would be his turn to live in my home state near my family for the next four years, so it is pretty funny to me that that is exactly how it has worked out,鈥 she said.

鈥淚鈥檝e been so lucky to be close to home these past four years, being from Hot Springs. I鈥檝e gotten to be at family events and watch my little brother grow up and be at his baseball games. It鈥檚 been really nice having them just an hour away, but I know Ragen has missed her family so much. Any chance we get to go up to OK and see her family, we always come back to school so rejuvenated and relaxed. I鈥檓 so happy that we get to spend the next four or so years closer to her family so we can give her family the same thing my parents have had the last four years,鈥 Manatt said.

For Brooklyn Marcee, the dream of competing as a collegiate athlete started early 鈥 and it became the foundation for a college journey defined by discipline, leadership, and determination.

Marcee will graduate from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in May with a Bachelor of Business Administration in management. Beyond leaving college with a degree, the Quitman, Texas, native leaves with experience balancing athletics, academics, leadership, and entrepreneurship.

“Being a collegiate athlete has always been a dream of mine,” she said. “I have been in sports since the age of two, so it has been great getting to experience what all my hard work has brought me. I will forever be grateful for the time I had here.”

Athletics and campus involvement shaped much of Marcee鈥檚 college experience. While a member of the track and field team competing in women鈥檚 pole vault, she also managed multiple responsibilities.

“Throughout college, I was a full-time student-athlete on the track and field team, ran my own business as a freelance makeup artist, and was involved in organizations on campus such as the Student Activities Board, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and served as a mentor for CLC (Chancellor’s Leadership Corps),” she said. “Having the opportunity to balance all of this has taught me discipline, time management, and the importance of building relationships with those around you.”

Marcee said earning her degree has been deeply rewarding, even during difficult moments.

“It has definitely been challenging and overwhelming at times, but I knew it would all be worth it in the end,” she said. “I think staying grounded, grateful, and building relationships with those around me is what helped push me through those times. Because how lucky am I that I get to be overwhelmed by something I once prayed for.”

Her support system included her teammates, family members, and mentors.

“My parents have always been my number one supporters,” she said. “They are always pushing me to be the very best version of myself, and I know that I can always count on them.”

She also credits mentors Corrigan Revels and Will Kendall for helping guide her development on the track and beyond.

“Corrigan Revels has been like a mentor to me for the past four years and has pushed me to get involved and grow in my leadership abilities,” she said. “Coach Kendall has not only pushed me to be the best I can be in my sport, but in life as well. He has taught me to trust the process and embrace the highs and lows.”

Revels praised Marcee鈥檚 commitment and determination throughout her college career.

“Brooklyn’s work ethic and commitment to her obligations are highly admirable,” he said. “It takes true discipline to uphold a solid academic performance, deliver as a student athlete, and serve as a Chancellor’s Leadership Corps Peer Mentor for 3 years. I look forward to seeing what comes during the next chapter of her life.”

Marcee鈥檚 dedication earned her numerous honors, including three OVC Academic Medals of Honor, seven OVC medals in the women鈥檚 pole vault 鈥 six silver and one bronze 鈥 and the OVC Scholar Athlete Award in 2025. She was also named a 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Homecoming Royal.

After graduation, Marcee plans to focus fully on a passion she began years before college.

“I plan to continue to pursue my business as a freelance makeup artist specializing in bridal,” she said. “I started this business in my freshman year of high school. Now that I am finishing college, I can fully commit to this passion of mine, getting to make women feel beautiful and empowered on one of the most important days of their lives.”

As she prepares for the next chapter, Marcee said she鈥檚 confident in the foundation she built in college.

“I loved the close atmosphere 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock gave me,鈥 she said. 鈥淲hether that was with organizations, professors, classmates, etc. It allowed me to meet new people and grow in ways I didn鈥檛 think I could have.”

Marcee describes her college experience as supportive, opportunity-driven, and impactful.

“Supportive because I felt like I had a strong support system while being here the past four years,” she said. “Opportunity-driven because there are so many opportunities to get involved on campus here, and ways to prepare you for what is after graduation. Impactful because I was able to make meaningful connections and grow into the person I am today.”

What advice would you give to future students who may be considering running for Homecoming Royal?

鈥淢y advice would be: just do it! Don鈥檛 let self doubt or fear stop you from putting yourself out there. Inspired by her mother鈥檚 work as a registered nurse, Kemiya Bornds knew by age seven that she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. She set her sights on becoming an OB-GYN, a physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. With the support of her parents, that dream has never changed. This Saturday, Bornds will take a major step toward that goal as she earns her Bachelor of Science in biology with a concentration in clinical biology.

While at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, Bornds was an active member of the Student Activities Board (SAB) and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. In SAB, Bornds was able to help plan and execute events for students across campus. Delta Sigma Theta helped her to step into leadership roles, eventually becoming chapter president. Growing up in the small town of Osceola, Arkansas, she found that these challenges helped her grow and realize she was capable of anything.

When Bornds first arrived at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, she was shy, timid, and barely spoke, but through the influence of her mentors, she was able to learn skills that she will carry for life. During her freshman year, Assistant Director for Student Leadership & Development聽Corrigan Revels helped her step out of her comfort zone, meet new people and become a mentor. With the encouragement and dedication of her professors, Bornds was able to continue on her path to becoming a doctor.

Bornds was a member of the Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps. For her, the CLC scholarship made a major impact, offering support to transition into college life, build friendships, network effectively, and become a mentor. One of her favorite memories from CLC  was being able to host one of the CLC dream conferences. It was a new experience for her and she was able to network and meet new people who helped with her future plans.

鈥淒on鈥檛 be afraid to get to know people and come out of your shell,鈥 Bornds said. 鈥淪eeing as I was reserved when I first came to college, getting out of my comfort zone by going to events, joining organizations, and talking to people helped navigate me through college. Being homesick is real. Make sure to reach out to people and don’t let it become depressing.鈥

Her next step after graduating will be to attend the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to finish pursuing her dreams to become an OB-GYN. Bornds is prepared to take on any challenge that will come up.

Karoline Putnam, a junior mass communication major from Maumelle, spent her summer helping tell the stories of campers with special needs through an internship that鈥檚 deepening her career goals and expanding her skills.

Putnam is serving as a public relations and communications intern at , a nonprofit organization in Little Rock that provides barrier-free outdoor experiences for children and young adults with special needs and medical diagnoses. Since beginning the internship in early June, she has helped tell Camp Aldersgate鈥檚 story by writing blog posts, crafting social media content, and communicating with the families of campers.

鈥淚 would say my biggest duty is creating the end-of-camp slideshows,鈥 Putnam said. 鈥淚 take the pictures our photographers have captured throughout the week and turn them into something parents, grandparents, campers, and staff can enjoy. It鈥檚 really rewarding to share those moments.鈥

Each week, she sees new photos of smiling campers who are enjoying activities designed just for them, photos that often tell the story of a life-changing experience.

鈥淢y favorite part is opening my computer every day and seeing the smiling faces of children,鈥 she said. 鈥淭his may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for some of these kids.鈥

Putnam discovered the internship through LinkedIn and was excited to find a hands-on communications role so close to home. Working under the mentorship of Brooke Wilson, Camp Aldersgate鈥檚 director of communications, has also been a highlight.

鈥淏rooke has been incredibly inspiring,鈥 Putnam said. 鈥淪he is a very good leader, and I love working alongside her team.鈥

In addition to developing her writing skills, Putnam has gained experience with blog production, professional software, and social media analytics. These tools and strategies will serve her well in a future career in marketing or communications.

鈥淚鈥檝e already learned so much, and I know there鈥檚 still more to come,鈥 she said. 鈥淭his internship has absolutely helped prepare me for my future.鈥

Tinaya Brown has always had a history of helping children. Now, she鈥檚 turning that passion into a career as she prepares to graduate from 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in elementary education on May 17.

Brown, a Pine Bluff native, is part of 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 innovative teacher residency program with , a new model of teacher preparation that pairs education students with a mentor teacher for a full school year of preparation instead of a traditional semester-long student teaching placement.

As a teaching resident at Forest Heights STEM Academy in Little Rock, Brown has spent the entire year in a kindergarten classroom under the guidance of her mentor teacher, Christy Watkins.

鈥淚 started on July 31, and I鈥檝e been in the classroom every day since,鈥 Brown said. 鈥淭he whole thing has been great. Doing the residency program has given me a better understanding of what being in my own classroom will be like. I鈥檝e learned so much from Miss Watkins and the other teachers on the kindergarten team.鈥

The immersive experience gave Brown the chance to fully engage in all aspects of teaching, from working with parents to planning lessons and supporting students through day-to-day ups and downs.

鈥淚 got to see my students grow, as I grew right along with them,鈥 she said. 鈥淥ne of my favorite memories was the kindergarten meet-and-greet night. It鈥檚 funny to think about how shy and nervous all the students were at first compared to how comfortable and confident they are now. It鈥檚 just been so special to see their progress and growth not just socially, but also academically.鈥

Brown said the yearlong residency helped her grow in patience and confidence, two skills critical for any educator but especially kindergarten.

鈥淲ith kindergarten, you need a lot of patience,鈥 she said. 鈥淚n the beginning it鈥檚 about teaching them how to be good school citizens.鈥

Brown鈥檚 journey to the classroom hasn鈥檛 always been straightforward. Although she was inspired to become a teacher by her second-grade teacher, Miss Harrison, she initially explored other paths.

鈥淚 changed my major three times before joining the Elementary Education program,鈥 she said. 鈥淏ut I realized I was already doing so many things that revolved around children like working in daycare, teaching Vacation Bible School, and teaching children鈥檚 church. It just made sense for me to be a teacher.鈥

Her decision to attend 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock was an easy one.

鈥淚t鈥檚 close to my parents鈥 home, and we used to come to Little Rock almost every weekend so I was very familiar with the city,鈥 Brown said. 鈥淚 toured this campus twice, and I knew the first time I came that this was the school I wanted to attend.鈥

Since starting in 2020, Brown has made the most of her college experience. She served as a resident assistant for three years, joined Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., participated in the Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps, and was active in Chi Alpha, a Christian ministry on campus.

One of her favorite professors was Dr. Rachel Eells, director of the School of Education, who left a lasting impression.

鈥淚 absolutely loved her class,鈥 Brown said. 鈥淪he was my professor back in 2022鈥23, and I still remember a lot of what I learned. She鈥檚 also such an amazing and genuine woman.鈥

After graduation, Brown plans to begin her teaching career in Arkansas, and she鈥檚 excited for what lies ahead.

鈥淚鈥檝e been looking forward to graduating since the day I got into college,鈥 she said. 鈥淏ecause of COVID, we could only have our immediate family attend our high school graduation. It will be nice to be able to have more of my family members attend my college graduation. I鈥檓 excited to get out into the world, start teaching, and have my own classroom. I thank God for blessing me to get to where I am today.鈥

Junior Brooklyn Marcee was crowned the University of Arkansas at Little Rock鈥檚 2025 Homecoming Royal on Saturday, Feb. 22, during the halftime homecoming court ceremony at the men’s basketball game.

The Homecoming Royal is chosen by the student body through Trojan Engage, a campus platform that connects students, faculty, and organizations through groups, community feeds, and events.

Marcee, a business administration major with a minor in applied communications from Quitman, Texas, said she was encouraged to run for homecoming court by her fellow Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps members.

She admitted she did not expect to hear her name called but was shocked, excited, and grateful.

鈥淚 feel honored to be crowned Homecoming Royal,鈥 Marcee said. 鈥淚 am excited to see what this next year has in store and to represent the school. I hope to form deeper connections with people on campus and in the community. I want to increase Trojan pride and instill a greater sense of community on our campus.鈥

Marcee is actively involved on campus as a Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps scholar and mentor, a pole vaulter on the Little Rock Trojans track and field team, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and the volunteer coordinator for the Student Activities Board.

She has been named to the Chancellor鈥檚 List for all six of her semesters at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock and holds two Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Academic Medal of Honor awards.

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock has partnered with the Aunt Flow Initiative to provide free period products for the campus community.

Dispensers stocked with free, organic cotton menstrual pads and tampons are available for use in 10 high-traffic academic buildings and residence halls across campus.

Students involved in 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps (CLC), a leadership development scholarship program dedicated to service learning that impacts the community, will be responsible for monitoring and refilling the dispensers across campus. CLC students also run the Trojan Food Pantry on campus.

鈥淭he concept of joining the Aunt Flow Initiative is to help fight against financial insecurity for those who have menstrual cycles,鈥 said Corrigan Revels, assistant director for student leadership and development. 鈥淭hat fits in very well with the Trojan Food Pantry, which also provides personal hygiene items because they can be very expensive for students. We are dedicated to supporting the alleviation of any barrier that prevents students from going to school.鈥

In response to calls from the student community for greater access to period products on campus, the Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps and Student Affairs Wellness and Inclusion have been working for two years to bring the Aunt Flow Initiative to campus. Founded by Claire Coder in 2016, is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to period products.

鈥淲ellness and inclusion is an area that is very important to me, and we want the use of period products to be inclusive for everyone who needs them,鈥 said Sharon Ann Downs, assistant vice chancellor for student affairs 鈥 wellness and inclusion. 鈥淧eriods do not always arrive on a schedule. People are not always carrying period products or change to buy them from machines.鈥

By providing free period products to campus, 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock is removing an obstacle to education that is common to many students. A study from shows that 1 in 10 women on college campuses experience period poverty, which is the lack of access to menstrual products.

鈥淛oining the Aunt Flow Initiative will also help us reduce the amount of people who miss school because of having their period and not being able to afford period products,鈥 Downs said. 鈥淭his is really a retention issue. Of all the things that can derail a student from getting an education, this is an easy one to fix.鈥

The dispensers are located in bathrooms in the Jack Stephens Center, Windgate Center of Art and Design, Fine Arts Building, University Commons, Student Services Center, Donaghey Student Center, Dickinson Hall, Ottenheimer Library, Trojan Grill, and University Village.

Natalee Voss鈥檚 big dreams brought her from the small town of Winthrop, Arkansas to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. At first not sure which direction to take, Voss took a leap into the business side of things and discovered her passion for accounting. Now a senior on the brink of graduation, Voss is looking forward to her next steps after obtaining her bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

My name is Natalee Voss, and I am a senior at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock pursuing my bachelor鈥檚 degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. I grew up in the small town of Winthrop, Arkansas, and attended Horatio High School. I am really just a small town girl with large aspirations in life.

I have always wanted to be successful and make those around me proud. Whether that was in basketball, softball, FFA, school, or just relationships in general. I have been blessed with a supportive and loving family who has always cheered me on and have ultimately been a huge reason as to why I grew up wanting to be a college graduate.

Why did you choose 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock over other universities?

I ultimately chose 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock over other universities because it offered the most scholarships. I always knew that I wanted to attend a four-year university, but I never really had my heart set on any one in particular. I applied basically everywhere I could in the state of Arkansas, and 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock literally gave me the most bang for my buck.

How did you decide to pursue accounting?

You know how when you鈥檙e growing up the one question you are asked every school year is, 鈥淲hat do you want to be when you grow up?鈥 Well, I never had a solid answer to that question. I used to think that I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was little, but when I realized that vets can鈥檛 save all the animals, I quickly changed my mind.

In high school, while most girls were taking nursing concurrent credit courses, I dedicated my time to the welding classes. I thought that I wanted to pursue a career in the welding industry after obtaining my associate in applied science my senior year of high school, but I still submitted applications to four-year universities because that was one thing I was always sure I wanted to do in life.

When I first started attending 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock, I chose to pursue computer science. I literally thought, 鈥淐omputer people make loads of money, so that sounds great to me!鈥 I quickly discovered that I did not enjoy all that the major entails and, after the toughest semester I have ever had, decided to change my major to business administration.

In doing this, I was introduced to the Principles of Accounting I course. This is where I discovered my love for accounting as well as the importance of choosing a career that makes you happy. Don鈥檛 get me wrong, there are parts of accounting that most definitely are not 鈥渆asy鈥 for me to understand, but this major allowed me to actually be interested in understanding and learning more.

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

One accomplishment that I am most proud of is maintaining an honorable GPA throughout my college career. Ever since I can remember, I was always the student that just had to have straight As. In school, everything came easy to me, and I never really had to study. When I began majoring in accounting, there were things that did not come easy, and I had to figure out how I learned best. Although I earned my first B that semester, I felt extremely accomplished because I knew that I had to put in the effort to understand and deserve that grade.

Another accomplishment that I am most proud of is being a Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps (CLC) graduate. When I received the CLC scholarship, I knew of several other freshmen who also received the scholarship and honestly didn’t feel like it was that big of a deal. However, as I continued through college, I noticed that the number of individuals who were still scholars was diminishing due to the academic requirements of the scholarship. I feel honored to have been able to continue to maintain my academic status and truly earn the title of a Chancellor鈥檚 Leadership Corps graduate.

A final accomplishment that I am most proud of is that I was able to attend a career fair on campus that eventually led to me obtaining an internship with a local accounting firm during my Spring 2023 semester. I was able to become an audit intern for HCJ CPAs & Advisors, PLLC.

Through this internship, I was able to work hands on with certified public accountants while also attending college. I learned many valuable skills through this internship that I will continue to extend upon and carry with me throughout my life and career.

What have been some of the highlights of your time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock?

Some of the highlights of my time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock include gaining new best friends by living in the East Hall dorm, becoming a member of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM), and eating the amazing food from the cafeteria. Obtaining lifelong friendships allowed me to create a circle of dependable and uplifting individuals who are my biggest supporters.

I know wholeheartedly that if I had never met these people, my experience at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock would have been drastically different. Also, by becoming a member of an on campus student organization, the BCM, I was able to create even more connections, the most important one being with God.

Lastly, I mention one of the highlights of my time at 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock as being eating the food from the Trojan Cafeteria. This sounds so cheesy, but it is literally the best cafeteria food I have ever, and ever will, eat in my entire life. Not to mention how caring the staff is! They really made the place feel like a home away from home.

What鈥檚 next for you?

After graduation, my next steps in life include getting married, moving to a new house, and seeking work. A week and a half after graduation, I will be marrying my high-school sweetheart. We will be moving into our new home that we are currently renovating. After this, I will be seeking a full-time position in an Arkansas-based auditing firm. My internship as an auditing intern for HCJ CPAs & Advisors, PLLC, taught me that I have a passion particularly for the auditing side of accounting. It is my hope to be able to perform duties associated with the state of Arkansas鈥 government.
