The 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Communications and Marketing team has been recognized for their skills in photography and design by the University & College Designers Association (UCDA).

The Communications and Marketing team won two awards in the 2023 UCDA Design Awards Competition, which recognizes the best of the exceptional design work done to promote education institutions. The awards are judged by a hand-picked panel of peer jurors composed of designers, design educators, photographers, and illustrations working for educational institutions.

The team received an Excellence Award in the Best Use of Printing Processes 鈥 Specialty Process category for the 2022 design of an invitation to 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock鈥檚 opening gala celebration for the Centennial Campaign, the university鈥檚 capital campaign that is working to raise $250 million to celebrate the university鈥檚 100-year anniversary in 2027.

鈥淚 was very proud of this print piece. Being recognized, awarded for something I enjoy doing on a daily basis is a humbling experience,鈥 Senior Graphic Designer Klansee Tozer said. 鈥淐arrie Phillips brought the idea to my attention, which she and I worked collaboratively with Alumni and Development to make it their own for their Centennial Campaign event. We knew it needed to be extra special.鈥

Communications and Marketing worked with Printing Services to create a triple-swinger die cut with an asymmetrical accordion hybrid format fold, which consisted of six panels in the middle.

鈥淚t turned out beautifully using silver ink on black cardstock paper,鈥 Tozer said. 鈥淎s always, I’m thankful for the creative opportunity, and I’m glad the event was successful.鈥

University photographer Ben Krain was also recognized for his great athletic photographs featuring student-athletes from the swimming and diving, track, and women鈥檚 basketball teams. He received an Excellence Award in the Athletics Photography category.

In a resounding testament to their talent and skills, the 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock Communications and Marketing team has garnered an illustrious array of awards, cementing their reputation as true trailblazers in the industry.

鈥淭he CASE Circle of Excellence Award holds great significance in our industry, representing excellence and innovation in university advancement,鈥 said Christian O鈥橬eal, vice chancellor of university advancement. 鈥淚t is a reflection of our team’s exceptional talents and the impact they are making on our organization and the community we serve. Their commitment to excellence has set a benchmark for others to aspire to, and it fills me with immense pride to see their hard work acknowledged by CASE which is widely viewed as the standard bearer in our profession. I am confident that this award is only the beginning of many more achievements to come.鈥

The Communications and Marketing team received a silver-level CASE Circle of Excellence Award in the Marketing/Advertising Category for digital advertising.

鈥淭he work the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is doing around affordability is incredible, and to have our team be recognized in an international competition for that work means so much,鈥 said Dr. Carrie Phillips, chief communications and marketing officer. 鈥淚 am so proud of this team and their continual work to support the mission of 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock. Being recognized for that work is incredibly special.鈥

The premier accolades for educational advancement, the Circle of Excellence Awards recognize colleges, universities, and schools whose talented staff advanced their institutions with ingenuity and resourcefulness.

“The Circle of Excellence Awards showcase the impact advancement professionals have upon their institutions and communities around the globe, every day,鈥 says CASE President and CEO Sue Cunningham. “Our 2023 honorees鈥攆rom diverse institutions and teams of all sizes鈥攁re bold, creative, and resourceful. They demonstrate how powerful it is when advancement teams champion teaching, learning, research, and the progress that education ignites.”

The CASE judges noted that the digital advertising campaign’s strategic focus on affordability and its powerful impact on prospective students stood out among the nominations.

鈥淏y directly addressing the financial barriers faced by students, the ads instilled hope and effectively conveyed the university’s commitment to accessibility,鈥 the judges wrote. 鈥淭he impressive reach, click-through rate, and increased interest in campus tours and inquiries demonstrated the campaign’s success. Moreover, the ads served a dual purpose of both raising awareness and substantiating the university’s claims of affordability. 糖心Vlog传媒 Little Rock’s innovative approach and the profound impact it had on prospective students make it a deserving recipient of this recognition.鈥
